What from her side of the story could possibly justify he leaving her children? That's the worst thing she did to me

Bad thing about counseling is, it only works if both parties want to do it. She'll probably go to one or two sessions, then quit and things will revert back to before she left. Rinse and repeat. Counseling didn't work for me.

Sorry but there is no way in hell I'd take her back. She abandoned her family to run off to Tennessee just to frick this other dude? Well that whore can just keep her happy arse there and let him support her.

Your nephew is a cuck. All he accomplished was let her know she can do it again and he’s pathetic enough to take her back again. Tell him congrats on the BBC sloppy seconds.

Any woman that would run off and leave her kids isn’t with much in my opinion.

Frick her, anyone that would abandon their kids like that doesn't deserve an ounce of sympathy. Nephew needs to stick it out for however much longer he can and find someone else.

Having young kids I can understand why people would live in a loveless marriage just so they wouldn't be separated from their children. And I guess that momentary lapses in judgment can happen...drunk, angry, etc.

However, 2 things make taking her back a horrible idea.

1. The fact that this chick ran off and ABANDONED her children is a HUGE red-flag. It is going to happen again...99.9% chance...because she clearly prioritizes herself over everyone else.

2. This wasn't just a drunk hook-up (which may still be unforgivable, but at least more understandable). She chose to have a full-blown relationship with someone else...in another state! That's not a spontaneous act. That requires significant forethought.

If he chooses to remain with her then he has to be willing to live with the fact he will NEVER trust her as long as they are together. For a mother who clearly values herself over her children is it really worth it to stay?

He should load her stuff up and drive her to California.

This will go down as his greatest regret. There's a strategy to what she's doing, and he's playing right into it.

Being honest though, he needs a lawyer and a PI yesterday. He needs to gather as much info as possible.

He has great grounds for custody.

Hard to say not being in the situation myself, but I don't think I could forgive a cheater.

She sounds like a really shitty person for just up and leaving her husband and children. I'm assuming it was some type of midlife crisis, but IMO that is not forgivable.

Serious question. Is your nephew and the wife drug addicts? Props to your nephew for stepping up but this sounds like some addiction fueled hijinks.

If he wants to reconcile with his wife, that’s fine, but he shouldn’t be immediately moving her back in. They need a crap ton of counseling and work before they should be under the same roof again.

Probably should give themselves some time before taking her back. I don't think there's anything wrong with forgiving in a case like this, even though I probably wouldn't, but it's not something that should just happen right away. I wouldn't let her move in again and just go forward until trust was rebuilt and extensive counseling was taken

His willingness to take her back speaks volumes to why she left in the first place.
