I agree with you, it’s easy to debate 18-21 year olds who don’t have a lot of life experiences. Antagonist might be a stretch, both parties show up to debate and agree to have a conversation. I might be wrong in this but in my mind an antagonist is trying to get someone into an argument that they don’t want to be a part of. Splitting hairs, I know but I can see how people think Kirk could be a little smug and abrasive. Still no reason to kill the guy.

Unbelievable and tragic. Whatever you think about his opinions or politics he exemplified the philosophy of speaking politely and respectfully with those who disagree.
That isn't just a virtue, it is the essential structure of democracy. It is the mechanism by which democracy must function.
Assassinations have happened before but this is another terrible moment in American history. Endorsement of peaceful speech and nonviolence must be seen to be more viable than using intimidation and violence. Otherwise the structure of governance will lose credibility and power.
If you hated Charlie Kirk's ideas that was and is your right - but today you have a moral obligation to honor his contribution to free speech and Socratic dialogue. Speaking up in defense of the life and rights of those you abhor is the best evidence of integrity and your belief in democratic institutions.
That isn't just a virtue, it is the essential structure of democracy. It is the mechanism by which democracy must function.
