I went in there up to around the third or 4th floor around 2010ish for work. It looks like a horror movie/time capsule. The floors I saw just had stuff moved around, but everything was pretty much how it was left when the hospital was evacuated. In the psych area they still had a patient roster on the nurses station dated for August 29th.

There was also a great radiolab episode on memorial hospital last year called "playing God"

The smell of death was overpowering the moment a relief worker cracked open one of the hospital chapel’s wooden doors. We are all talking about charity on tulane ave, correct?

The building next door is being used by lsuhse.

The brand new hospital is marvalous. Way better than any of those non working no insurance drug addicts deserve.

It really is a loss. The fiasco they caused in trying to push through the agenda for the new monstrosity caused them to lose many, many wonderful employees. DIfferent place now. And not for the better.

I worked for about eight months at Southeast Hospital in Mandeville from October 06 until July 07. In the spring of '07 we got a bunch of furniture from Charity. Chairs, desks, dressers, etc. Looked like shite from the 1960's that would have been in the Brady Bunch house. It was all funky and needed some major cleaning and after that over half of it got dumped. We were told they came from the upper floors but who knows? It had been stewing in that building for almost two years.
