You would have to practice running just faster than the current fastest human on earth and be careful not to break out in a sprint. Just run fast enough to break records and win but not expose your "mutation."

Can you carry any sort of payload flying? I've got kids man, I'd have to rig some shite from Harbor Freight to fly them around.

Imagine being able to fly around a lake and fish all day. What kinda torque we talking about here?

Is 50 MPH enough to run on water like the incredibles?

In sports, you'd just need to outrun defenders. Flying, to not get banned, you'd basically never be able to fly.

The beauty of speed in pro sports is that it's easier to get open for a catch/shot without exposing that you are different. It's hard to camouflage that you can't get open, but then abruptly jump 8 feet in the air over a CB.

If I can fly and only consume 100 cals per mile, then I'm in. This is hypothetical. There is no way you could generate the horsepower to fly at 200 lbs with only wasting 100 cals per mile.
Sea Birds get the most mileage per KJ. A 200 lbs Sea-birds absolute lowest expendature would be 4000 KJs a day flying. That's 956,000 calories a day flying. Or ~40,000 calories per hour. At 15 miles per hour that's 2,666 calories to fly a mile at 200 lbs.

superman just puts his arms out...burns less calories than walking. It's almost the same as lounging on the couch

You're not flapping wings here. Just flying at a relatively slow speed.

I need more info

What are the altitude limitations with flying?

Am I limited to 15 mph when gliding and falling? If not, can I easily stop myself from falling?

If I ran at 50 mph, I'd be in the Olympics, so I'd choose that.
If I could fly, I'd also enter the Olympics, and hold world records in High jump, Pole vault, Long jump and triple jump.

I'd make gymnastics look effortless.

Ski jump and half pipe would be my bitch.

figure skating, pshhhh, frick your quadruple jump, sextuple for me!

I'd win a shite-ton of horse races, being lighter than any other jockey.

I'd also launch from the 3 point line and dunk (lord knows I can't shoot) and become the new face of Nike and eventually my own line of Air DLauw's.

AND

I could motherfrickin FLY!

Fly.

I'd make a superhero outfit and....save cats out of the tree??

yeah, I dunno. Flying at 15 miles and hour would get boring.

I'll go with running 50 mph. I'd go pro in every sport possible...olympics..all over the wheaties boxes....MILLIONS!

but when people realized all you could do is fly at a slow speed and nothing else, they'd move on.

Can you run a 4 minute mile? That's literally 15 mph. I'd be pretty stoked to fly that speed, with minimal effort.

Flying no doubt. 15 mph is pace for a 4 minutes mile, so faster than most people run over distance.

Plus, if you want to get somewhere fast, just fly straight up for a couple minutes then skydive down at 120mph or more.

Flying is fun but less marketable.

If you can't figure out how to make money by being the only person in earth who could fly, you lack imagination.

I'm pretty sure being able to fly would be quite beneficial in many sports, by the way.

Altitude as much as you can handle. If you need a suit or O2, that's fine. You're doing 15 MPH no matter what.

Fly. Running doesn't help you if you need to cross a river. It doesn't help you cross a mountain range. Plus, if you can fly, you have use of a third dimension when escaping danger.

See: birds.

You'd just have to remember not to fly around airports lest you take a SAM up the arse or get sucked into a jet engine.

My main question is how do I fly between a hover and 15mph? Just stretch my arms out more? Is a superman one arm at waist and the other fully extended half speed? Also is the 50mph running lifetime? You could be a career punt returner as no angles the coverage team takes would matter. The jet sweep would be devastating until they loaded your side and you stopped and reversed field.

You won me over. Bunt every time get 1st then steal 2nd 3rd and home everytime. Everytime you go to bat it's a guaranteed run. Every double, alot of singles would be inside the park homerun. Play soccer in offseason, identify as a horse and win a few derby's when strapped for cash.
