I love the beach, but do not like actually sitting ON the beach.

I would not enjoy a week at a high rise in orange beach.

We will be making our 5th trip this year to Rosemary Beach in a few weeks. We get a house off the beach in town. My kids are little, and they just like going to the parks in Rosemary and Alys and the pool. We'll make a few short trips down to the gulf but we don't stay out there. For me, it's just a place to go and be forced to spend uninterrupted time with my kids. My wife and I work so much we don't get that opportunity during a normal week.

Why do you spend $1k+ a night to go to a house with a pool? You could do the same thing for way less money if that's all you're going to do.

Whatever, I don't care, your money, just seems fiscally dumb

I'm not a huge fan of the beach, but the wife is.

No sir I won't.

I grew up at the beach (Tybee and HHI) and cannot stand it. My wife and kid (no pics of either) love the beach and are driving home from Daytona right now; I'm chilling in my home office in the north GA foothills. They can have it.

I'm all ears for what beaches don't fall into this category now.

You are going to the wrong beaches.

I cannot stand to vacation at a beach where all I do is drop my arse down and look at the horizon for 3 to 5 days.

I go to a destination. An island or place that has a beach, but also a swanky hotel, localized things to discover or learn about, unique dining experiences, etc. Being on an actual beach is 20% of the stay.

I don't want to leave the hotel and ride down a road littered with chain restaurants, goofy golf, and an abundance of tacky surfer shops.

I can't do it.

I can’t imagine being such a tight arse prick that sitting on the beach and having a beverage ISN’T considered a great time

Maybe the problem is y’all, and not the beach

I like the beach...I enjoy watching the beach (and people-watching too), getting in the water, walking in the sand, etc.

But I also get why some people don't. Different strokes and all that, I guess.

Love the beach. I can sit under my umbrella for hours and be content.

Bro, all summer long, some people make it their TD mission to completely trash the beach and people who go to the beach (I realize I’m embellishing a little here )

It’s ridiculous

The internet has made it to where it’s more than acceptable for people to trash how other people enjoy spending their own time and money, get this……while doing the same shite they’re doing!! It’s crazy

‘Oh wow, look at all these lame assholes enjoying themselves at the beach’

Where you at fam?

‘The beach’

It's unbearable during the summer on the gulf coast nowadays. I don't consider it a vacation at all. More like surviving hell.
