Loupe and Banks were at the meeting but not at their seats when the vote happened, but both said they would have voted against it and their votes would not have helped Broome reach seven. Loupe said he left the room to have a conversation, thinking he would be back at his seat in time for the vote.

"It was very difficult to not support the mayor's agenda item knowing it meant so much to her," Banks explained for why she missed the vote. "I went to the bathroom to collect myself and when I came back, it was over with."

regardless how you feel about the proposed tax, this is obscene. why isnt shite like this a bigger issue?

Aggressive abstinence. I don't oppose it. It's a way to not be involved without being in direct opposition.

But why would you say that as a matter of record?

I wonder if Loupe in particular is ever in the room for a vote on things this big.

i would define that as passive-aggressive, or plain cowardice. loup probably didnt want to offend the AGC or LABI, and banks didnt want to do whatever it is she does there (i'm not entirely certain she even knows what her job is)

either support or oppose the measures before the council, and go on record. sneaking out before the vote should be grounds for dismissal

Is there a mechanism that tracks voting records for BR Metro Council members?

So Chauna went to the the restroom for a bump and ended up cutting a line and took longer than she expected.
Or she is just a coward and skipped out so she didn't have to directly oppose "her girl's" tax plan

Is it against the rules to postpone the vote until all are present?

Chandler Loupe is my Councilman and I cannot wait to vote against him. I will vote for any other Republican who would challenge him.

how is that not seen as voting against it?

If you were for it, you would make sure you were there to vote for it.

This really needs to be publicized more. You were elected to do a job. Do it. Vote yes or no. Why not skip the meeting entirely if you didn't want to vote.

How in the hell do they have votes when members are present at the meeting but they stepped out of the room? They can't wait for the member to return?

What these 2 idiots did, was cut a deal with the other Alderwomen/Aldermen.

They said, we'll push X bill, if you let us leave, vote, allowing us to look like we were screwd and unable to vote. We'll yes vote/rubber stamp anything you need in future.

It's unfortunately, the reality of our politicians, and their shadiness .

They didn't want to be recorded as in support of or against the tax.

Also, this is probably more of a political talk topic.

I would agree, but these two have shown themselves to be retarded enough time and time again to actually accidentally miss a vote because they had to piss.
