I would have to disagree, and I don't particularly like Madonna.

But she's a pop icon, writes music and is at least a decent vocalist. And she's worked and toured for what, 30 years?

You could probably make an argument that her wealth/fame is disproportionate to her talent, but the list gets WAY longer if we start using mere disproportionality as the criteria.

I am not a Madonna fan, but she was very innovative in her time. She pushed the boundaries of her craft, especially in music videos, beyond what they were before she came along. That takes a certain level of vision and inspiration that not a lot of people have. People without talent don't engender an entire movement the generation after them like Madonna did.

Well, but doing the most with the least is how I Define what she has done she has made hundreds of millions of dollars with very little Talent. She tapped into a certain niche and the market and went from there. She has remade herself several times but again I think that's marketing

Because her untalented butt got in with Lorne Michaels, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler she's probably always going to be offered things despite not really deserving them.

Compare Kanye with Kim. Kanye shows up on my radar (even for non-substantive stuff) a lot more than she does.

She's so useless and talentless that she has trouble making news these days. Kanye can make a few tweets and it'll end up on CNN. I'm not sure Kim has the ability to get her thoughts, as dumb as they likely are, out to the world. When you consider her name recognition, it's kind of amazing.

Like Bryan. Awful singer, yet has managed to turn his looks, stupid fake songs, and shaking his butt turn him into a country icon.

Also, George Lopez sucks arse.

I'll also add Britney Spears. She's less talented than all the female artist of her time but she moves the needle more than Christina A., Jessica Simpson, etc.
