When I was a wee lad I was taught to cover my mouth when I had to cough, sneeze, or burp. If folks would follow these simple manners this chyna 19 shite would barely be a blip.

He is loosely following them. He is following the 2 criteria though.

If he was following them strictly, we would be further shut down.

There's a 150k variation in your data between 2014 and 2018.

So tell me... What was the pandemic in 2018?
2018 was the worst flu season (~60k deaths) in the last decade at least, while 2014 was average (~38k), so that's 22k. The other 128k over 4 years is 32k per year, divided by roughly 1.7m is a growth rate of about 1.9%. Given that the population growth rate was just under 2% during the baby boom 70+ years ago, this is basically exactly in line with expectations.

Are you seriously trying to equate that with the 10+% increase in deaths we see here?

PS... Take notes of the number of deaths from violence and suicide during 2020 vs last year.
If both homicide and suicide were to DOUBLE this year, we are still left with 150k+ excess deaths to explain. Or do you think suicides have quadrupled?

And we’re supposed to trust the CDC?

We all did until a minority elected a moron as leader of the nation.

Collateral damage from the virus response and lockdowns most likely accounts for a large part of this excess
Gotcha.

And what about Sweden? Their death rates are more variable given the smaller population, but still their 2020 deaths over the first ~7 months are 3k higher than 2018 (bad flu season when they counted 2700 flu deaths). And 2020 is ~4200 higher than the previous 5 year average of 52.8k deaths, an 8% increase and roughly in line with their claimed 5,870 covid deaths.

Do you think there is also a lot of "collateral damage" in Sweden due to their (mostly) non-response to covid? Do you think that Sweden's covid-to-typical-flu death ratio of roughly 5X is legit while our covid-to-typical-flu death ratio of roughly 6X is not?

Thank God.

What has he done that you specifically object to?

This doesn't mean masks are useless. This means that aerosol particles are not a significant source of spread.. which we already knew.

FTR...I havent gotten test for COVID either but I have taken 2 Antibodies test that were both negative.

Just curious, did you make an appointment with a Dr. to take get the antibody test? How long did it take to get the results?

I've been to my routine doctor's visits, and had my annual physical. Never once did any of the doctor's ask me if I wanted an antibody test during my check-ups.

No, that means the opposite. Masks protect against droplets not aerosols.

However, I'm pretty sure it's airborne and the CDC is trying to cover their arse because they have no idea what the frick is going on.

I'm curious as to what the reaction will be if it is truly airborne

because if it is, then it almost assuredly means that we have had way more asymptomatic cases than we think and that if we don't have a fall outbreak, could that mean we are close to herd immunity?

or does everyone freak the frick out and we go back under even more strict lockdowns?

or do we just ignore it and keep doing what we are doing because no one wants to admit we were wrong about anything

NO MORE lockdowns!

The lockdown measure was idiotic even though I somewhat understand the reasoning, as the country did not know what we were dealing with and precautions had to be taken. The continue restrictions not needed. The mask shortages are over, the new medication is working on the symptomatic cases, and people in general have adopted much better hygiene.

The curve has been flattening for many weeks in the majority of the areas, and even taken a drastic downward turn in many others. Open everything back up!
