He could have saved lives by not waiting for the cops, too.

Here's the problem; you're assuming the armed robber will take the money & run....what if he doesn't? What if he turns on everyone so there are no witnesses?

What % of armed robberies end in the robber shooting a bunch of people? I understand the "shoot first" mentality, I just don't think it's the correct mentality for cc permit holders.

Why didn't the CC permit holder just shoot the fake gun out of the robber's hand?

You really can't play the percentages in these situations. The risk is too great.

MAYBE a business. But the law, depending on the state, doesn't really look at it that way.

Your home? Come on.

Unless you want to be really angry, don't read the comments for that article underneath.

Half of the people saying that we shouldn't value property over life and that the CC owner was in the wrong for doing so. Just terrible how some people think. People who are willing to commit these felonies aren't suddenly going to find a conscience and decide that murder is wrong. Murder happens with robberies all the damn time. "Dead men tell no tales" is a phrase for a reason. If that gun was real, and a lot of the time it is, then having someone else pull the trigger on him before he can pull it on innocents is the right thing to do.

But how do you know if you'll be in the lucky percentage or unlucky percentage?

Maybe he should've asked the robber what his intentions were

I don't care if its less than 0.2% it is still justifiable to shoot that motherfricker in self defense.

And shoot to kill, a dead man doesn't return fire.

Doubt it.

Got to prove it was racially motivated for the Feds to have a nexus into investigating it.

The thought that a victim is responsible for deciding whether or not an intruder is a threat is ridiculous. If someone has broken into a store or home, and the victim feels threatened, lethal force is certainly justified, IMO.

Exactly. And guys who commit armed robbery are nasty people. I've seen them. Lots of them really don't care. Taking a human life is no different than shooting a dog.

Maybe he's in a idgaf mood, maybe he's worried about witnesses, maybe his accomplice accidentally calls him by his name, etc.

Armed robberies are high pressure situations where chances are something is going to go wrong.

Hmmm, fortunately in this situation, CC guy DID in fact know how to use his gun. Score 1-0 for the good guys.

Glad to see the general reaction (here and elsewhere) has been pro-CC holder

Unfortunately, I'm sure Ms. Igbinosa Oronsaye is gonna sue the CC holder for wrongful death, etc
