s "one time only" a hard rule for Article 894? I've been wondering about that for a long time. It seems like I've known people who used it over and over again. Maybe it's up to the judge
Believe it’s 5 or 7 years in between usages. Can’t remember off hand.

Just before you get off the bridge entering into Metairie.
It drops down to 45 on the Northshore..

Same cocksuckers on the Huey. I am an under the speed limit kinda pokey driver. But never fails they got someone every time I cross it(3 times a week). I never get tickets and hate them just as much as speeders.

Five years. There are a couple of exceptions, but that's the general rule.

I drive the Huey every day and there are always at least 2 or 3 on each side. One radaring the entrance, one sometimes at the middle of the bridge, and always one at the base of the bridge when exiting. It's so ridiculous that they will completely ignore a distressed or broken down vehicle and instead keep radaring people. Causeway cops are the most worthless beings with a badge.

Go to court see if you can plead down to a seat belt violation. All they want is the money so the assistant DA might do it.

This is what I did for my Causeway ticket. 78 in 65. It was closer to $200-250 total. Jefferson Parish court.

Causeway is the last place I speed in SELA .. damn cops are everywhere. Have to pay for those benefits and pensions

And they do warn you about the drop in the speed limit well in advance of the actual speed limit sign. One thing that can get you is that it's the longest bridge in the entire world at over 23 miles long so you can sort of get into a trance-like state and not pay attention to the signs while you're on there. But I believe the OP got one when getting on the Causeway. That's basically almost automatic since there are warning signs and cops always sitting right there.

Did OP get the ticket as he was getting on the causeway going northbound? I can see that since you think as soon as you get on the bridge it goes up to 65 but the first 1/4 mile or so is still 35 from causeway blvd.

Pleading under 894 I believe is a court issue thus court costs

It goes 35, then 45 and then 65. Tickets suck, but it's pretty well marked. Three people and a dog have gone overboard in the last two months in two different accidents. Somehow, they all survived. The guy last month had a life jacket in his car that saved him and a good samaritan that jumped in to help him. The Causeway is not your typical speed trap.

Hire a lawyer if it’s reckless operation.
I was going 100 in a 70. Hired a lawyer who got it reduced to a non moving violation, $180 fine, keeps it off my record, and no court appearance.
Well worth it but to be honest the cop was right on my bumper in an unmarked SUV. Every time I changed lanes he did to. I thought it was someone screwing with me so I sped up. Followed me for 5+ miles until he put on his lights and pulled me over.
FYI- I was not on the causeway

IIRC, the one I got on the interstate by Clearview was 20 over and mandatory (might've been 21 though)

Im in a LEO family....everyone hates the causeway police.
There isnt a bigger group of OT moochers this side of the mississippi.
Gave a buddy a ticket after he called ahead before getting on bridge and declared an emergency while rushing to see a family member in the ER....they died while a CP lectured him on doing 80.
Disclaimer: this is directed at only that group of sob's
