Maybe part of you would like the Catholic Church to be The Gay Church because you gain so much comfort by having the Catholic Church as your personal punching bag.
Facts are this: the Catholic Church is now very proactive in dealing with these sexual misconduct issues involving clergy and administrators. The Catholic Church has a clear, written and published for public review (for free) doctrine on this issue. The Catechism is clear that homosexuality is disordered and that acting on those tendencies is a grave sin.
Other denominations allow openly gay Pastors - Catholics do not. We have it in writing. We enforce it.
Is the hate for Roman Catholicism here on Tigerdroppings so very profound that the Church has to get bashed when it enforces its morality doctrines AND when it mistakenly fails to do so? In other words, Tigerdroppings stands ready to Damn the Catholics whether they do right or wrong?
Come on, people. Don't be hateful and hysterical about the Catholic Church. That's a bad look for you and for Tigerdroppings.
BE REASONABLE.

The Catholic Church is very proactive in this area today.

We don’t have to pretend. It IS a church to this day that is full of Homosexuals and Homosexual child molesters. The Homosexuals haven’t been eradicated from the Catholic Church. Until that happens nothing will change.

Taking advantage of minors is, of course, a sin, and covering up and allowing that behavior to continue is just as bad.
Perhaps you missed the part of the story where I explained that the Catholic Church is today very proactive on the issue of protecting children.

The Homosexuals and Homosexual child molesters
I am of the belief that many homosexuals and even pedophiles are initially troubled by their desires and go into the priesthood in hopes that turning to God will change their ways. Or at least the belief that serving God in the priesthood will keep them celibate. That doesn’t work for them. As time passes, the urges become stronger and stronger, and they begin to act on them. I think this is more true for pedophiles. I think just as many gay priests remain celibate as do heterosexual priests.

You are being a hysterical drama queen here.
It's a dirty lie for you to say that the Catholic Church today "is full of Homosexuals and Homosexual child molesters". You are a Liar.
The Catholic Church today is very proactive in solving these issues. We have it in writing that gay sex is a grave sin.
Stop Hating. Stop the Hysterical Lying. Be Reasonable.

I believe that once a person makes a decision to actively lead a sinful life that involves participation in active violation of the Seventh Commandment, then that person is no longer trying to make a change in their lives, they have decided to follow an Evil Path, and they are Condemned unless they truly Repent and follow the Correct Way.
The Church musical director followed that Evil Path for many years. The local church never "witch hunted" this man while he was pursuing evil. The Bishop made the call. The local church is obligated to obey.

OK, then let's condemn this Archbishop's error. Then let's look at cases involving Protestant Pastors and church leaders that have committed similar errors. Let's stop pretending that this is a Roman Catholic problem and only a Roman Catholic problem.
PS Grok says that the Protestants are worse than the Catholics, when it comes to this child molestation issue. Here's the link
LINK
And Grok says this about Protestant cover ups of sex molestation allegations:
"A 2019 investigation by the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News found nearly 400 Southern Baptist leaders accused of sex crimes against over 700 victims since 1998, with many cases mishandled or unreported by local congregations."
And keep in mind that the investigation focused on ONLY Southern Baptist church leaders, not any other Protestant denomination.
Let's be reasonable. Every thread about religion or a spiritual issue does not have to devolved into just another hate-filled attack orgy against Catholics. That happens because the attackers have deep-rooted hate and lack of mercy and charity in their own hearts, for one reason or another.
Be Reasonable.

The vast majority of Cardinals at The Vatican are Homosexuals. You are aware of that. Right?

What's the solution other than banning gays from the church? Will you be the one to say out loud what your problem is, or will you just passively talk about pedofilia to get your kicks like the rest of the pride brigade?
Posted on 7/4/25 at 10:32 am to GRTiger
The solution is to completely and totally eradicate Homosexuals from Catholic Church clergy and leadership. Thats what any sane person would do. The issue would be if they were to do this how many wouldn’t be left? 20% or so? The Catholic Church was built upon Homosexuality and Homosexual behavior from day one. That hasn’t changed like some are trying to perpetuate on here.

knew a guy that quit the priesthood, his synopsis of preists was the overwhelming majority of priests fit into one of two categories, either an alcoholic or a homosexual

I've never met a priest that I knew was gay. I've never met anyone that has had a gay priest experience.
But I've only known one priest that wasn't a raging alcoholic.

Believe it or not, the sexual preferences of priests doesn't come up too often. The people who claim to know tons of gay priests are about as honest as the ones that know conservative trannies.

Catholic schools have terminated MANY straight folks over extramarital affairs also a part of the morality clause.
