In recent years slot machine manufacturers have changed the "stop" location to other than a jackpot alignment to help prevent the misunderstanding.

She's not winning shite. The machine was a $6500 machine, she can't sit there and say she truly thought it was possible to win $43 million from a machine that has $6500 emblazoned all over it.

yea, no. She's gonna win this, just not for the full amount. Casino's have insurance for this exact incident, and her attorney knows that.

easy solution would be casino to pay out whatever the max money you're able to win from that machine.

The casinos do not need insurance for that because the gaming regulations say malfunctions void payouts. Any lawyer who does not know that is a poor attorney.

would violate state law and may lead to government sanctions from the regulatory body

Why is everyone ignoring this? Do they think you're lying?

But you've explained that they aren't, several times. I guess people just read the OP and respond directly without reading anything in between.

No slot machine will say "printing cash ticket" for any amount over $1200 for jackpots. It'll say "handpay" instead.

The selfie doesn't look like someone that just won 43 million dollars. She must be related to Reuben Randle

What is the point of a post like this on the third page of a thread?

Math is hard, huh?

Not really sure that getting the page number mixed up has anything to do with math, but the question is still valid.

am I the only one who noticed that in each and every one of these "due to a malfunction, we aren't paying off" cases, if the machine cant pay off for a win due to malfunction, then you should get every penny to ever put in that machine because by their own statement, its broken and cant be relied upon to be accurate.

so if they can get away with not paying you for a win, then there should be a full refund to everyone and anyone playing that machine must be given. because if you cant win from a "broken" machine, neither should they be able to profit from it.

Is it her fault the machine "malfunctioned"? Nope.

Then pay her every fricking penny the machine says she won.

I agree with this because if, unbeknownst to the public, a machine was malfunctioning and not 'paying off', they would keep the money.

Nobody plays the slots looking for big money. The most I have ever seen one pay out is a few thousand.

Huh? Not sure if serious. Absolutely they play for big money. My niece is a slot host (responsible for paying) and has been for 5÷ years at both in LC.

Most machines pay well over 10k for their own jackpot. If they are tied into a "progressive, if course, the large amount is possible.
Of course this lady will get screwed if she doesn't sue, which she has.

How so? Plenty of people quickly respond to the OP. I've seen 15+ page threads where some of the last comments are directed to posts from the first page and already beaten to death.

It's not even like I posted something obscure. This case was posted a while back, and I was just responding to it after reading the OP and based on what I remembered. I then went back and skimmed the article.

Lol no. That's not even fair. The play is void. They legally cannot even give her $6500.

It was without a doubt a major machine malfunction.

Don't these machines have a disclaimer telling the exact amount is maximum? She should definitely get that if so. What they gave her was insulting.
