While I do use both, I prefer cash. I have cash saved up that I use for certain purchases and for "smart gambling" (texas hold'em and betting on football). I don't use it to buy things that I want a record of, but there are some things I rather not have my named tied (it's nothing I buy to do anything illegal with or anything like that).

debit card should only be used to get cash out of the atm. you are leaving a lot of credit card rewards on the table.

I felt so bad for the guy but had to tell him it was BS and send him on his way a million dollars poorer.
