Post the Will Farrell “black” gif. That should answer about all the questions regarding the ills of any public space

15 per day drink limit

Even when I used to get after it 15 would do me in.

Really? I’m think a couple of Bloody Mary’s at breakfast, a mimosa or two at the pool, a couple of screwdrivers at lunch, two or three piña colada’s before dinner, a couple of drinks at dinner, and you’re almost done with your limit before the evening starts.

I was on the Alabama Gulf Coast this week and on the 3rd I had control over the Bluetooth speaker. It was a large group of 35-45 year olds enjoying ourselves. I noticed that packed in next to us was a family with several kids younger than 8. I made it a point to play songs without curse words and not sexual (as much as music can be). Also not to play it too loud and make sure the speaker is directed away from them. It’s possible not to be complete trash in close proximity to others. Side note: the rap music from my time in HS and College is some of the most offensive shite out there. I never really heard it until I became a parent and my God, no wonder our parents hated it.

Just don’t play music on the damn beach around other people. frick. I want to hear waves and my kids. I don’t want to hear any music from other people, regardless of profanity. And I love music. The two beaches we go to ban it and it’s great.

I'm not sure these are the only two choices in life.

For some reason, the music aspect of it reminds me of going into Middleton to study during finals week, when I was in school.

Black people would put headphones on and this was when headphones were shite quality and you could hear what people were listening, and they would have their CD player turned up as loud as possible with their head phones on and it could be heard across the library. Then if someone asked them to turn it down they would get mad.

There are those who don't give a shite about those around them. Its all about them and what they want and how dare anyone not appreciate how obnoxious they are.

How the heck do people travel so much?

I spend most of my money creating memories and experiences with and for my children.

When I was a kid we did cheap vacations we could drive to as a family and my parents traveled all the time without me and my siblings. They saved plenty of money ensuring it was almost never spent on us.

I try and spend as much time with my kids and family as possible.

My parents will probably die with millions of dollars if it doesn’t all get spent in whatever retirement home or nursing care they end up in. Hope it was worth it for them.

Yeah, with Bluetooth headphones and ear buds, no reason to have a speaker. People are just selfish.

“Where Them Fans At?” line dance?

I was (until now) blissfully unaware of any such thing.

Jaysus, I really am moving to Montana.

Am I missing something? Looked like a normal line dance except for the two times of annoying fan openings.

Zero issues with other peoples music. If I don't like it, we will move or just not book something that exposes me to other peoples music in the first place. It's a very easily avoidable environment for the people who don't like it.

Music helps create an environment and it's played just about everywhere.

The biggest issue with the beach for me is peoples entitlement. Too many people want a private experience in a public space.

If you go to a public beach or a private beach connected to condos or a resort you will experience other people and it's not their responsibility to act in a manner that you necessarily approve of. It doesn't remove social normalities and responsibilities but kids will play, scream, splash and jump in the pools, people will be loud at night, people will play music on the beach, people will need the grill sometimes for an hour or more if they've cooking for a large party.

It's the people who want to act like a section of the beach is theirs, they want to save chairs or space at the pool and essentially look down on everyone who's trying to experience the same space in a different manner as if they're the selfish ones that make beach trips suck.

The bigger issue is that people feel the requirement (beyond need) that music is necessary. And they don't care how rude they are about it.

This is a combination of the class issue Freaux referenced and the lack of attention/span focus caused by brain rot.

There is a large population of lower-level thinkers who simply cannot exist without constant stimuli bombarding them. Silence and introspection is basically a horror movie to them.

But they travel more now and have infested basically everywhere.

I don’t know about Carnival, but RC music on the pool deck is played at a low level through the ship speakers whenever there’s not a Caribbean live band playing. I would describe it as happy, upbeat shopping music and not that ghetto rap stuff. I can deal with that because I’m still able to read and enjoy the vibe.

Some of these people won't ever have "a lot of money" no matter which they choose. Hell a good percentage are on EBT.

I agree. I’m not defending anyone just responding to the poster who asked how people go on vacation so much. Nothing to do with the cruises in this thread. I choose to spend money on making memories with my family instead of holding onto every dime I have
