Car prices aren’t high everywhere, just Louisiana. Screw these dealerships

I’ve been shopping for a nice used car for my daughter turning 16 this week. The fricking dealerships around here think their shite is made of gold. I’ve made some nice offers on a few cars (above KBB value), and none would budge.
I found a great car in Birmingham for $3000 less than the exact same car here. Plus, I found some with great prices in Houston.
I’m driving to Bham tomorrow

They're higher everywhere, but if you find a high volume dealer you can still get a decent deal. There aren't a ton in Louisiana.

fricking craziest thing, two years ago, I bought my oldest daughter her first car. I paid $6500 for a 2016 Nissan Versa Note. That same car (now two years older), they asking $11k-$15k for it.

All used cars are not equal. Condition is everything.

Mind if I ask where? I'm in the market.

Market in midsized cities sucks. You gotta drive to a Dallas, Houston, or Atlanta.

It may not be a buyer’s market right now, but one thing I noticed over the last three days, hitting every dealership from BR to Covington, it seemed like I was the only customer there, at every dealership. They were ghost towns.

The reason I searched Birmingham is because my BIL lives there, so he’s checking it out before I head out in the morning. I just searched “Birmingham dealerships” on Google and clicked on all of them. I’m buying from Stivers.
Houston has some great prices as well, and was thinking of driving out there tomorrow, then I search Bham because my BIL lives there and can help me out.

While in Bham, hit up Saws Soul Kitchen (or Juke Joint) and get the pork n' greens. You're welcome.

Yes, and the car we are getting in Bham has better mileage, better carfax info (no wrecks), and would be at least $3000 more here, if not more.

Will you take him to an estate sale in town, in case you may need him to carry some golf clubs, etc.?

Possibly.

But seriously, this weekend won’t have any (or very few) sales because it’s a holiday weekend.
