Don't be pissy because he posted proof after you said it 100% didn't happen.

I'm not pissy about anything. They get blurry as frick when you zoom in to the point of being unreadable.
ETA: Also, what the guy below me said.

That's not a loan for a down payment, that's a vehicle service contract. He got duped in more ways than one.

Idk about where you are. But there are maximum rates on new vehicles in Louisiana.
As for his interest rate, it's what his credit dictates.
No one made his credit history but himself.
As for paying back double, that small financed downpayment will probably pay back triple or quadruple.

I know, but blurry pictures are better than no pictures in most of these threads.

He didn't even want that jeep, that was the only vehicle they would finance to him.
They saw him coming
They told him he could trade it in in 6 months on something else. I felt bad when I told him he would never be able to trade that vehicle in.

He didn't finance an outside down payment, he purchased an outside Vehicle Service Contract for damn near $4000.

And financed it at half the rate of the car, which is pretty incredible in and of itself.
This guy needs to call an attorney asap. I'm not sure if he has a case or not, but it's possible, especially if they mislead him about the service contract being included since it was offset by the rebates.
$4k in rebates and a $3999 service contract are too close to not think something shady happened.

$4000.
realistically the service contract is costing him over 8k.

Looks like this man earned the right to buy his new vehicle . Looks like a solid deal. What you didn't share with us was the dealer incentives, cash back, early graduation discount, kickbacks, clear coating or oversight reviews that likely will save this man mondo Dinero during this 75 month term. You can't just look at the interest rate and total cost. That's where they trick you.

The guy basically paid MSRP and financed it at 24%, bought a service plan that was 16% of the purchase price of the car and finances it at 13%, bought gap insurance without even having auto insurance, and doesn't have a DL.
That's incredible.
That's incredible.

If I was in that situation, I'd be accidentally getting caught in a flood ASAP.

There was a $4k rebate on the car, they tell him he needs a $4k down payment, but that’s ok he can finance one. They sell him a $4k service contract, and keep the rebate. They point to it on the contract and show that 4K is coming off the price.

I'd be more curious why your "friend" has the original copy of his contract. Why is that Mr. Bored Finance Guy spinning a tall tail?
Huh?
It clearly states it's the customer copy at the bottom.
