Well getting a loan to use as downpayment for a different loan is illegal, so he also committed fraud.

Your dumbass coworker is an idiot AND a criminal.

Well that's fishy as f***. What was the MSRP on the car? He should have received the Monroney label from the vehicle. You can email me at my screen name @yahoo.com if you chose not to post it on the board.

That line is generally used for manufacturer rebates or the disclosure of a deferred down payment. The cash line above is where it should have been disclosed. It's a possible TILA violation if they indeed did not have a rebate on this deal and disclosed his down payment as a rebate.

Have him call the finance company directly and threaten them. Then take it back to the dealership immediately. Even if there is jo cooling off period, the deal isn't funded yet. If the finance company finds out he is taking the car back, they will cancel the funding.

He needs to send all of his information, a few pictures, and his story to Elizabeth Warren while copying the dealership. The CFPB would have a field day in this situation.

How would that even be possible? If he got a bridge loan for the downpayment then either he signed a contract for that loan, or he did not and he should hire a lawyer immediately.

Downpayment loans are not done at the dealership, so he would have had to go to the payday place of business and apply for the loan. If that did NOT happen, then I would love to find this place so I can get some loans that I do no not have to sign for and pay back.

Can you post the picture of the "rebate" financing?

Calling that a rebate on the finance sheet is fraudulent IMO.

I'm telling you he had no idea he borrowed 4k. He thought he was just signing the paperwork to buy the car. They saw him coming and ran it off in him.

What does it say in that last box on Line A? Can't make it out in the picture.
