Don't get me wrong, this is great. But I feel like I read a headline like this every other month only to never hear anything of it again

THEY are trying to do both. It's just the THEY that's doing cancer research are a different THEY that's doing the Alzheimer's research.

They really don’t realize this. They are probably same type of person who gets pissed at DOTD when a city-owned street is bumpy or blames the city when a DOTD project gets stalled.

Man, cancer treatment is huge business. The price of this will have to replace the current price tag plus some.

Yeah but... their guy with brain worms who eats road kill, says heroin made him a good student, and always defaults to "well I don't know the science" when asked to actually explain his claims that vaccines are bad.

You do realize it's not one guy working on cures to stuff with a to-do list, right?

well both would be fine but if you only cure cancer then that leaves dementia as next likely your way off the earth.

A cure for both would be nice, but curing cancer is a way bigger deal because it kills kid and young adults too....not just senior citizens like dementia.

Stuff like this gives me hope. Hope that one day people will write off cancer like we currently do with fever/infection being a death sentence 200 years ago.

and now they will get rid of it.

happens all the time.

i've seen so many of these cures and, they simply go away.
Like which? Cancers are successfully treated all the time and remission rates along with "curing" have gone up for almost all cancers.

And people have it in their head because the Covid vaccines sucked
But that’s the thing, they didn’t suck, they actually were very successful for a vaccine against a coronavirus

The messaging of “you won’t get covid if you are vaccinated” was ludicrous and made it an easy target for idiots to attack and lose complete site of how the vaccine actually was a success especially so over a traditional vaccine

Depends on your definition of "productive."

Once they become a net drain on the economy, i.e, they're existing only off government assistance.

Think about everyone in the US who has died of cancer, or dementia / Alzheimer's in the past 50 years. Then think about what things would be like if they had all lived to be 120 instead.
