Can’t just sweep that under the rug

They certainly seem to do it with the constant murders where the perps are released just to do it again

Oh, so the cops do nothing until someone does their job for them, and THEN they show up and arrest that person?

I’m so confused by the leaps in logic.

The video of the incident corroborates the witness' story. Abdelkader is going to jail for a long time.

I've only ever known Canal as chain stores and seedy tourist merchandise stores.

I grew up in the 50's and 60's and would often head to Canal St. with family back in the 50's, and by the mid 60's I'd head up there myself as I was a teen with a job.

There was Krause's, Labiches, Maison Blanche, D.H. Holmes, Rubenstein Brothers, Perlis, Godchaux's and a host of other clothing stores to choose from. You could head over to "Big Daddy's to haggle shoe prices and do the same at Meyer The Hatter if so inclined.

There were 4 excellent cinemas back then with the Saenger, RKO Orpheum, Lowes State and the Joy Theater all vying for your business. My two favorites were the Saenger and RKO Orpheum.

Canal has been a shithole for decades now. Between Canal and the Quarter, there must be 100 or more damn T-shirt shops and other stores that sell touristy crap now.

I applaud this man. Clean up Canal St.

He stopped Asian Hate with a preemptive strike.

70's folks would drive to Canal Street from Mississippi and spend lots of money on clothes, etc. The packages would be delivered to them in Mississippi the next day.

Why?

If you lived out of state, you paid no Louisiana sales taxes on your purchases.

Motwani owns a ton of french quarter real estate along with virtually all the trashy t-shirt shops.

Gary here will flee to another country never to see the inside of an Orleans Parish prison again.

Can we award him with a medal for taking out the trash when he's on his way out?

I went to Canal St often with my Mom and Grandmother in the 60’s. We always wore nice clothes to go Downtown.

It was a different world then for sure. Most women were slim and wore dresses. This was before our population turned to trash.

Just think how nice it would be if women wore dresses regularly.

There is a black women who shops at the grocery where I shop. Always in a dress, manicured, smelling good and she rocks it.
