No need to worry about this one as someone will put the bail money and Gary here will flee to another country never to see the inside of an Orleans Parish prison again.

This is what it used to look like - it was an upscale shopping district with high-end department stores.

What you’re implying isn’t wrong but come on, he shot him on fricking canal street

Can’t just sweep that under the rug

What brewhan davey posted is correct:

Back in the day, according to my grandma and mom. if you were poorer and needed things you went to Poydras St, Oak St, and even Dryades had shops. Canal St. was somewhat exclusive - you dressed up to go.

Even through the 1990s Canal St had Maison Blanche and Krauss. The touristy crap was starting to take over, but you could still get some nice things.

Would these shops allow you to use their restrooms during Mardi Gras?

Canal has gotten disgusting. Chicken shops and trinket stores and sticky shite on the sidewalk.

That's one of those foot massage places, not a rub & tug. There are several on Canal. It's really great after a full day of walking around the Quarter.

I’m talking about from New Orleans’ inception until about 1980s

Not nowadays

I can tell you where you got dem shoes ...

ETA: I don’t ever remember dressing up to go to Canal St - my grandparents and mom talked about it. My grandma got dressed up to go anywhere all her life.

Even though NOLA is pretty similar to a place like the Middle East, you still can’t just shoot and kill people baw. We have different laws here in America Mr. Abdelkader
