The House of Commons voted 205-82 to accept some of the Senate’s proposed amendments on the bill, sending the bill back to the upper chamber for continued debate and a final decision.
The bill would lift a 95-year-old ban on recreational marijuana, and sets the government up to regulate production, possession and sale of marijuana to Canadians over the age of 18.
The House of Commons turned down some of the Senate's proposed amendments, including a ban on pot producers selling branded merchandise and giving provinces the power to ban home-grown marijuana, according to CTV News.
The Senate could take its next step forward as early as Monday evening. Lawmakers have said they expect marijuana to be legal and available around September. Regulated medical marijuana has been legal in the country since 2001.

Louisiana will be the 48th state to ever legalize. Followed up by Mississippi and Alabama. Far too many backwood Billy Bobs with badges have far too much to lose if this goes through.

I feel like the city of New Orleans will try to legalize it before the state as a whole.
I'm not sure if that will work but I think the libs will try and they'd get my vote if I lived in the city.

Yep. Instead of capitalizing on something that will be legal across the country in 20 years and helping our economy, of course Louisiana will be one of the last to legalize it.
How many times has TOPs been cut again?

Well, an extra $200 million in taxes, fees and licensing every year wouldn't hurt

I tend to agree with people who think owning a plant shouldnt result in prison time.
Also, I tend to agree with people who think perhaps the govt is not a very good nanny.

I wouldn’t trust LA lawmakers dispersing tax revenue appropriately made from legal weed.

Money is a secondary concern. Freedom is the number one concern.

If only we knew. If only we had tried prohibition before and failed miserably at it. Then Nixon might have known.
