I forgive the meteorologist for predicting rain yesterday that never happened and I plan to never have interaction with him or her ever.

There are folks that I don’t hold a grudge against, but I don’t associate with them anymore.

Of course

Forgiveness isn’t for them, it’s for you

Interaction isn’t a necessary part of the equation

Yes, and yes. It's called boundaries that you set for yourself.

To forgive, at it's core, is to cancel a debt. Forgiveness is a skill that we develop. It is both the destination and the journey. If you choose to forgive, you will make that choice over and over again as you walk the road toward forgiveness.

Forgive others not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.

As long as it is less than the 490th time, sure.

Absolutely. Some people you just have to cut out of your life and move on from.

Yeah especially if you just don't like drama. There are people I have no animosity or ill feelings towards but I still just don't want anything to do with them because of their life choices.

Absolutely.

You forgive, as God forgive us
You forgive because hate corrodes the container it's carried in.

That said, it is not required to have further interaction with them.

I like to think of it as relieving the offender from the burden of having to associate with me.

I’ve exercised that option with a few people in recent years and I’m better off as a result. I forgive the, but I also don’t want to deal with their toxic views and behaviors.

Depends on the circumstances of your relationship with the person who you warrants your forgiveness as to whether you can forgive and no longer have interaction with.

As others have alluded to- forgiveness is for you. It is not for the offending party. Withholding forgiveness (when you are ready mind you) is akin to ingesting a poison hoping it affects the other party.

You can also have forgiveness without reconciliation. There are quite a few options concerning forgiveness and they are all basically boundaries that you are establishing.

So, he took a borrowed.308 and never returned it.

That’s a tough call but I guess you can.

Bigger man than me though…
