I am sure his kid had a comment or look that set off the teacher. Doesn't give her the right to say what she did, but no way the teacher just snapped like that.

Kindly frick off, sir.

You “can’t” even get this nonsense right.

Knowing your posting history here you’re probably a difficult parent for teachers to handle. Especially if you’re getting this worked up over this situation. She probably wanted him there to calm her down after the meeting.

Because it was asked and discussed with the teacher. Maybe her husband even thought it was bad enough of her to be there to support her because she even realized it was not appropriate or like her. Maybe they did have the phone on to CYA. I’m a pretty nice guy just concerned why it happened then why a public administrator isn’t doing his job or involved in his wife’s punishment. Him and Superintendent are friends and in same office , different building.

Wait, are you upset that the district superintendent wasn’t at this meeting?

A meeting to simply discuss a teacher potentially saying something mean to your kid who also apologized for it?

A Superintendent doesn’t need to be in a meeting like that.

He’s the coordinator in this situation according to the school. MS principal set the meeting. Again I’m not in the wrong or lying.

I think everyone has those moments where you think something is off. Can’t believe ppl would think it’s okay if a public school teacher hid communications to her administrator husband during working hours. Or even being weird or shady like that.

But yeah the child is the problem and one misbehaving here

You said in your OP that you requested the Superintendent.

So who actually requested them, you or them?

You’re making a broad assumption that they hid communications. And just because it’s during working hours, it doesn’t mean her husband didn’t request the time off to be there for her at the meeting. That, again, is another broad assumption.

If the teacher apologized and that was “satisfactory” as you claimed then why this elaborate meeting with administrators present? That’s what doesn’t make any sense. Nobody has time for all that over something as minor as a teacher saying something off color to your kid, for which you already accepted an apology, unless there’s more to this story.

I would most likely do the same thing for my wife. If you are satisfied with her apology and she owned up to the incident, then let it go. Did you say some things you now regret? If not just move along.

So ppl shouldn’t be held accountable? If the high school principal can spend time away from his building then his buddy the superintendent can come with him.

You’re a teacher of course you don’t think it’s wrong. Teachers aren’t supposed to plant seeds of how they should mold a kid. That’s the parents job. Parents raise their kids and teachers water those seeds helping them grow. You don’t cut down a kid where if done more than once a kid could give up or not be interested.

even says it in their handbook and statute.

Of course not. I just wanted to know what happened. Teacher did say my son’s statement was accurate. She said she has never done it and sorry.

It just seems like they didn’t want it to be reported. Or that she did something that maybe should have been according to procedures.

You haven't articulated what your concern even is here.

What are the implications if the husband was listening to the conversation? Why would you care? What would you want done about it?

You didn’t answer my question, did they request the Superintendent or you?

Also, the Superintendent has other shite to do then deal with low level behavioral issues (from a teacher or student). It’s perfectly reasonable that he not attend a meeting like this.

It also sounds like, if her husband wasn’t in the meeting, that he was there in an unofficial capacity. Like as her husband. He has a right to do so if he had someone cover for him while he was out of the building. There’s no reason to think he shouldn’t be allowed to be there.

First, I’m not a teacher. And never have been. So you’re wrong on that one. But I find it really amusing that you’re lashing out and trying to get personal over folks questioning you (you’re all over the place BTW). Maybe that’s why she needed her husband there?

Second, she apparently apologized for speaking in a way she shouldn’t have. You said you accepted her apology but don’t want to “cancel” her. Yet your actions suggest otherwise.

I also am willing to say a 12 year old is probably not the most reliable narrator. So the truth likely lies somewhere inbetween.

What kind of camera are you trying to get a recording of? A classroom camera? A hall camera?

What is your goal here?

I'm sure you are a good parent and all, but with the way some parents act toward teachers and adminisrators, I would not be surprised if it was being recorded in case shite went down.
