Annie Oakley (born Phoebe Ann Mosey; August 13, 1860 – November 3, 1926) was an American sharpshooter and folk heroine who starred in Buffalo Bill's Wild West.

Oakley developed hunting skills as a child to provide for her impoverished family in western Ohio. At age 15, she won a shooting contest against an experienced marksman, Frank E. Butler, whom she married in 1876. The pair joined Buffalo Bill in 1885, performing in Europe before royalty and other heads of state. Audiences were astounded to see her shooting out a cigar from her husband's hand or splitting a playing-card edge-on at 30 paces. She earned more than anyone except Buffalo Bill himself.

After a bad rail accident in 1901, she had to settle for a less taxing routine, and she toured in a play written about her career. She also instructed women in marksmanship, believing strongly in female self-defense. Her stage acts were filmed for one of Thomas Edison's earliest Kinetoscopes in 1894. Since her death, her story has been adapted for stage musicals and films, including Annie Get Your Gun.

The reason some/most women act like that and try and assault men is they think there will be no repercussions of doing such. Treat them like a man and put the bitch down like a beat dog. I can assure you they won't ever do that again. No different than the idiot who sticks his finger in the Tiger cage at the zoo and gets his hand bitten off. He won't ever do that again.

This reminds me of my favorite OT argument about Rhonda Rousey ...

She's a badass if we're only counting other females ...

Except Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes---------they both KO'd Rousey, and made it look easy.

I nominate Lyudmila Pavlicenko, a female Russian sniper during WWII. She had 309 confirmed kills and was nicknamed "Lady Death".

I know a lady in her 80s who still drives, gardens, does home repair, cuts her grass, cooks from scratch. She's pretty badass to me

Definitely. I’ve known some tough arse old ladies that can build and fix things like many men can’t. Can back a trailer, herd cattle into a trailer and drive the truck.

Not to mention old ladies ability to shoot. They can shoot better than their husbands

Saw Alanis Morisette concert recently. At 50, she performed harder than I imagined she could and I’d consider her a badass.

I was there, and I was impressed. She looked amazing, too. Great show.

I guess there are also different meanings of the word badass.

Yes, there are.

Seeing a woman deal with extreme adversity, with dignity, courage, and grace is pretty 'badass".

Anybody can be mouthy and arrogant.

He’s right you know.

Now 9/10 times I’m against hitting a woman but if that woman wants to bow up at me and take a swing you bet I’m gonna knock her teeth down her throat.
