it hasn't been since reagan started completely dismantling all workers rights and protections in this country and started waging a war on the working class and minorities
"All lives matter" is a dog whistle. No one ever disagrees that all lives matter. but for all lives to matter, black lives, mexican lives, etc. have to matter first, and right now they really don't. you can bring up your stats that show white people get brutalized by the police too and it's true but the rate at which it happens in minority societies is disproportionate, full stop. Not even getting into other systemic issues that cause them to feel this way.
And whether you're intelligent and honest enough to admit it, doesn't make it any less true. you're stuck in a little fox news bubble and refusing to poke your head above the water to see the reality of people's lives in this country then lashing out at them when they have the audacity to challenge you for it.

No, it still is the greatest country on Earth.
Problem is, we diluted what it means to be an American.
We started catering to the lowest denominator and stopped slapping the Holy Hell out of idiots who acted up.

We were at our pinnacle in the 80s and 90s.

America is still the best, but the margin is thin. The "land of the free" slogan isn't all that true anymore. A lot of countries now have similar levels of freedom.

The words are offensive because of the context behind them when they are said.
"All Lives Matter" is only said as a qualifier or to downplay the words "Black Lives Matter". That's why it's "offensive" - because some people can't bring themselves to simply say "Black lives matter" without qualifying the statement or softening it.
If All Lives Matter was said on it's own, without any connection to BLM, no one would have an issue with it. Everyone, BLM included, agrees that all lives matter. But no one has ever felt the need for an all lives matter movement because no one has ever felt that all lives were under attack or facing hardship.
It's not complicated. The All Lives Matter crowd chooses to be intentionally obtuse because they don't want to address the issues the BLM movement is about.

Greatest economy maybe, but we are a completely deranged society and due to mass immigration we will look like a Latin American country soon (small super wealthy elite and a bunch of peasants)
