Can there really be a "system" to winning playing the lottery?

You’re never getting out of that single wide in Dry Prong. Sorry baw.

Yes. You redeem your tickets one by one and take some of those winnings, if any, and buy scratch offs which you scratch off at the counter to see if you have more funds to buy tickets with. Then you must confirm the numbers given are correct while remaining at the counter, preferably while everyone else just wants coffee and to go to work.

I never buy a single scratch off consecutively.

Never played the lottery. I take great pride in that.

When I lived in NC they were debating starting a lottery cause VA and SC had one and they thought they might be letting some $$$ slip away. There was a great bumper sticker at the time...."The lottery....for people that are REALLY,REALLY bad at math".

Yes, but you have to have an army of people and a lot of money.
You basically find out which scratch offs have major prizes left yet are close to running out of cards and then buy them all throughout the state.

Nah it’s a game of chance really but since your odds are equally the same for every ball, no true strategy would work.

no.
Unless you hire a bunch of people to go out and buy every potential number sequence.

The folks who say 'no' are incorrect. The system is this. You MUST buy a ticket and then you have a very small chance to win. If you do NOT buy the ticket, your chance goes all the way down to 0%.

The only winning move is not to play.

But yeah a coke gives me more satisfaction than two lottery tickets

You’d basically have to do what Veruca Salt’s dad did in Willy Wonka and you would still have a small chance.

I know someone who, for a project in a statistics class, was tracking numbers picked and locations where winning tickets were sold in excel and developing a powerball algorithm of such to maximize probability. He discovered some interesting trends that could theoretically increase one’s odds somewhat, but nothing that would help enough to make it a smart investment.

I only play mega millions, not powerball. Odds are better. Powerball often has bigger prizes but the difference for me in winning $200M versus $350M doesn't matter. Give me better odds any day. I can accomplish what I want with the smaller amount and have plenty left for my kids.
