So you showed up w/o an attorney? An attorney would have objected to the delay and if the DA wasn't prepared the judge could have thrown it out.
Penny wise/ pound foolish.
I am still in the interview process and don't want to have to dip into my savings for a lawyer yet. Hopefully I get a job soon and then will feel better about paying for one.

I wouldn't be getting legal advice from the OT, but if I did it certainly wouldn't be from Sao.

how is it flimsy when you already admitted to punching the vehicle?
I didn't punch it, I slapped it

my question still stands...how is their case flimsy if you already admitted to slapping the vehicle?

That's why I made this thread, I have no idea whats going on, what to do, or where this is going.
Seems like a reasonable way to go about things.

Just because I slapped a vehicle didn't mean I did any damage to it.

That is not for you to decide. Ask them for an estimate from a body shop showing the cost to repair the damage.

they still have to document that the contact damaged the vehicle I would imagine

This isn't civil court. The prosecutor has to get this information and show the causation beyond a reasonable doubt.
Now, if they do have this information, GN is entitled to it, but he has to request his discovery properly (as I said earlier).

Well let’s start helping the guy.
You didn’t slap the vehicle, you thought you were about to get hit and reached out/braced yourself for your own self protection.

Just because I slapped you in the face doesn't mean I did any damage to it either. You think the judge will let me off on that? Your logic is flawed.
simple battery (at least in LA) only requires the contact
now, if they wanted to prove 2nd degree battery, they'd have to prove a certain level of damage (similar to this case)

Is the 60 more days to review a good or bad development? Does it mean they have a weak case against me? Or is it because they have a case they are building to strengthen?
You better start thinking about which prison gang you are going to join.

The governor has asked for a bit more time to determine if clemency should be granted

What did you do to a vehicle to damage it? Allegedly, of course.
