That's true for basically every gas station. Prices compete to get people to stop and buy concessions, tobacco, and alcohol

Do you really need someone to explain this to you? If you pay attention to gas prices at every gas station you see and notice what area you are in, its not hard to figure out. In areas where people have more money, the gas prices are higher.. In areas that are poorer, gas is cheaper.

That's just business. Things are worth whatever people are willing to pay for it. in wealthier areas, they are willing to pay several extra cents a gallon for gas.

Poor people make poor decision. They use cheap fuel to lure the people in because they know they can then sell them overpriced stuff out of convenience that they could find much much cheaper at a grocery store or Walmart.

They are lower income areas and gas stations decide what the price is according to their profit margins. Same reason the gas station next to CCL is pricey

The station near me on Jefferson is by far the most expensive I know of in BR (50-60¢ higher than anywhere else). Yet there are always people getting gas there. I refuse to do it on principle and just get gas near campus.

Same thing when it comes to groceries. You can go to the same chain store in suburban areas and the hood and the same thing will be signivantly cheaper in the hood.

I passed the Bocage Chevron yesterday. Regular was $2.55, ~1 mile down the road the shell station on Jefferson was $1.95. Are the people that live and work around Bocage that stupid and actually buy gas there?
ETA: I don't pay for any of my gas (company gas card) and I still wouldn't even consider getting gas there.

I will be looking at my cheap, gas app and checking locations to verify this observation form the OPer. Gas stations right off the Interstate may be higher in most instances to grab the travelers' wallets........

And why is Love's truck stop so high on diesel? Every Love's I've seen is at least 10 cents, or more, higher than the stations around it. Port Allen is one. Even the brand new one they just opened in Port Barre wanted 2.45 for diesel this week. And they're one of the few that still do cash vs credit pricing.

And yes, N Baton Rouge has cheap gas.

They know they don't make much on gas selling it $4.19 at a time so they make up for it with higher profit margins on their biggest seller, Steel Reserve Ice.
