Can someone explain why all grades of gas are cheaper in the hood?

87 makes sense, but wouldn't the lack of cars requiring 93 mean it would be more expensive?

if anything there's probably more 93

Need a better return on investment to maintain nicer stores, higher property values, name brand gas/franchises

They are lower income areas and gas stations decide what the price is according to their profit margins. Same reason the gas station next to CCL is pricey

typically costs more around these parts
Usually cheapest around interstates

Real estate/rent is cheaper in the hood, thus the franchise owner has less overhead cost and can charge less for the same product being sold in a better neighborhood?

There's about a $0.40 difference between the good areas and bad areas here.
Guess the overhead costs make sense, but what about extra security costs?

to compensate you for being brave enough to stop and get out of your car

these small stations make almost all their profit from chips and beer and cokes etc. inside. So they lure them in with lower gas prices and hammer them on inside purchases.

riot friendly gas, it's less flammable, therefore it costs less

This. They know 90% of their gas sales will be cash and under 10 bucks. So they nail them with impulse purchases, cheap half pints of liquor, and 2/$1 blunt wraps.

Wouldn't know, no "hoods" where I'm at

93 can be cheaper because nobody buys it anyway.

"Hoods" usually refer to areas that aren't as nice as yours. If there aren't "hoods" then likely you live in "the hood"
