From what I recall they will pull aside and verbally confirm your identity through SSN, address, credit history, etc. Also they will probably give you a secondary screening.

I never say never, because I could lose my IDs but I always travel with three GI IDs, but the sad truth is, they've got so much info on us they don't really need it, but it would slow things down even more than they already are

This is correct.

A few years ago, I left my ID at a potential employer's for scanning, and didn't realize it until I was at the airport. I was very much freaking out, but after explaining the situation to the security agent, they had someone come to interview me. I went through without any problems - the process probably took 20 minutes. Doesn't hurt to be a white dude in business attire.

Yes. I have a friend that lost his license on vacation. You'll have to do a pat down and an interview.

Never understood why people couldn’t wrap their head around “maybe I can’t just walk in and immediately be assisted when there are 20 people in front of me who also need to take care of their shite”

Don’t want to wait forever (more the 20-30 minutes), get there earlier.

TSA is largely just security theater anyways.

As someone who flies weekly, this is true.

I always carry my wallet in my hand every time I go through security. Never an issue. In fact, before I knew you could do this, a TSA security employee told me I could. This was several years ago.

Fast forward to a random week, about 6 weeks ago, and I was told I couldn't carry my wallet through the scanner, because I might have a switchblade in it that is concealed. Incredbile. They literally just make shite up when they want. Since that time, I carry my wallet with me through the security scanner, no issues whatsoever.

And if they want to take a look inside my wallet, I have no problem with that. The thing that frustrates me is that there appears to be no defined standard, even though I'm sure it is on paper somewhere for TSA employees to learn and not enough consistency.

That's why the super center is the best. I can "get in line" from their website, drive over there, and by the time I'm there, my name is called within 5 minutes.

You need photo ID, not a photo of an ID, tard.

I think there is a way you can fly, though. Bring sweatpants, your preferred lube, and some Boudreaux's Butt Paste to make things easier on yourself, though.

not really the case, there is some latitude, and different security levels, it is by design that they do not appear to be they same everywhere, every time, that's why it's best to be prepared for the highest level of security every time and not try to game the system, that usually results in a multi-page piss and moan thread on here

It is not valid for flying and says so in the disclaimers in the app.

If your DL is from the State of LA you can get an electronic DL using the LA wallet app. It's $5.

Photo probably won't do you any good. My buddy "lost" his wallet on a bachelor party a few years ago. On the return flight we had to get to the airport a little earlier than normal because without an ID TSA pulls you aside to ask you a bunch of questions and physically inspects all of your shite.

So dumb. A white guy isn’t going to do something to a plane.

As someone that had his wallet stolen while taking the subway to the airport. Yes you can fly with out ID. My understanding is that TSA cant deny you access if you have a boarding pass and comply with their rules. Pre print your boarding pass if possible. I had no ID at all. But explained the sceanio at check in. The agent called for a police officer and i filled out a police report (that part is irrelevant to your story and ...wasnt necessary actually to TSA) i filled out some paper work for TSA and then the agent made a phone call and relayed questions from the person on the other end of the line. Where was spouse born? Where was my car in 2001 registered? ...six questions ..I think. I passed those and then had all my luggage examined and i was frisked (no cavity searches or anything like v that) the one thing the agent stressed several times is that i could only dob this verification once every 24 hours so if you miss your plane or its delayed "don't leave the airport you wont be allowed through TSA" That sucked because i had just a little cash on me and saw that delays in take off were going to make connections down to mins (i arrived at my connection as my final leg was bording but thannkfully was 2 gates over) So yes it can be done....should be avoided if at all possible but it took over 2 hrs to get through the whole check in TSA process

I believe you will need a DL that is considered a Federal ID or a passport. This started in January of this year.

Nothing personal, but for the sake of our country’s safety, i hope they don’t let anyone on a plane with a picture of their ID. Hope you have a passport so you can make your flight.

Considering you don’t even need an ID to get on a domestic flight, it may be possible.

Just went through this last week. Bring medicine bottles with your name on it, and insurance cards (health insurance, car insurance, etc), even new credit cards, just make sure to have multiple items with your name on it with you. They dont like phone pictures very much.

In the event you arrive at the airport without valid identification, because it is lost or at home, you may still be allowed to fly. The TSA officer may ask you to complete an identity verification process which includes collecting information such as your name, current address, and other personal information to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint. You will be subject to additional screening, to include a patdown and screening of carry-on property. You will not be allowed to enter the security checkpoint if your identity cannot be confirmed, you chose to not provide proper identification or you decline to cooperate with the identity verification process. TSA recommends that you arrive at least two hours in advance of your flight time.

This is from TSA.
