The Caitlyn Clark effect. People thinking they’re getting a Jordan type rookie card on the cheap. And she’s hot.

I've been in tournaments (in Alabama) where a team paid travel, hotels, etc. to fly in a pitcher from Texas for a weekend.

This happens more than what people know. I knew a team flying in kids from South America to play in tournaments. Flying kids in from California, Texas, etc. was a monthly deal

Bryce Harper dropped out, got his GED, went to a wooden bat juco for a year till he turned 18 then the draft. It’s not that far fetched if the kid is really good and has a plan to showcase it outside of HS.

My son Hereaux Bodean has contract incentives based on his WAR number and totas innings played. We are working with the agent now to see if he is gonna get sponsored by Ram or get a new F550

What age group is this happening in? Please tell me they're juniors or seniors in high school.

I think about 35 states allow NIL in high school now. There's a lawsuit in NC going on right now because they have two separate governing bodies, one for public schools and one for private. The private governing body allows NIL, but the state board of education doesn't allow it for public school kids. The mother of a 5* basketball recruit in public school has sued, because the recruit had a NIL contract in place before the ban went into effect.

My son is sponsored by got lit lights and Parish construction
He has a patch on hat and jersey, we're in negotiations w/ new balance for his cleats. His team is sponsored by Easton so he has to black out his bat he's a u11 Maricci rep.
Oakley is look at him for sunglasses deal but they are playing hard to get our agent thinks we can get Nike into a bidding war.
He really wants Jaxxon to be his chain of choice but they have yet to respond.

His hitting coach only cost 800 a week totally worth it he almost got a hit last game

Ethan Holliday just signed one with Adidas and he plays at Stillwater HS in Oklahoma. Probably helps that he is going to likely be the #1 pick in the draft this summer (like his brother was a couple years ago).

The team covering expenses would be different than actually paying a player.

Plenty of HS kids make money doing something else outside of school, it’s called a job.

The difference is can you do that and still compete. I would assume the rules are very different, but for most does it really matter? Basketball? lol, no it doesn’t matter. Baseball, as said there’s other options already in HS once a kid hits 16.

The main point of travel ball is to promote your own kids ability. While there’s certainly some parents that don’t mind bringing in paid outside talent, the vast majority would not approve.
