Accord. My family is a big Honda family. We've had several Hondas go over 280k miles without any major mechanical problems.

Camry...parts are cheaper and more reliable at higher mileage than the Accord.

ETA...I have owned very many Toyota and Honda products. Currently have one of each and both are approaching 200K miles. The Honda has nickle and dimed me more than the Toyota...but, both will last.

Accord. But only if it i4. V6's are well known for their transmission issues. If its an older accord be wary of clear coat failure.

Here's a lit of the 20 worst used cars.

3 Accord models made the list (02,03,04), and on Camry model (07).

Seems like you're one of the lucky few with the 08.

CARCOMPLAINTS.COM NOTES: The 2008 Honda Accord has several serious defects: poor brakes, excessive oil consumption, & uncomfortable seats.

BRAKES: There was a class action lawsuit against Honda in 2010 for premature & excessive brake wear. See our page onHonda's brake problems for more info.

OIL CONSUMPTION: Honda issued a TSB about this in late 2011, claiming it could be fixed through a software update to the VCM (variable cylinder management). There are class action lawsuits pending. See our page about the Accord oil consumption.

UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS: Owners have consistently reported uncomfortable seats with the entire 8th generation (2008-2012) of Honda Accords. Complaints range from back pain to leg circulation problems due to bad lumbar support, cushioning, & seat angle. Complaints aren't limited to only a certain body type -- the seat comfort problems are from a wide spectrum of owner height & weight. The common theme we hear is "we never noticed this during the test drive." Unfortunately for unwary buyers, the seat pain is noticeable after 15-20 minutes.

That list tells me to be wary of Honda, Ford, Nissan, and Daimler-Chrysler. Should be good to go on GM or Toyota.

Camrys are terrible and Accords are awesome. This is an easy question. Take the Accord and run with it.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one just pick the most comfortable.

Dont get me wrong, its uncomfortable as frick, and the ride is super noisy, but as far as problems go, we have had zero

unless the seat springs present the threat of accidental sodomy, I'm not getting rid of it until it falls apart

Camry have a nasty rep for burning oil at high mileage.

Go with the better ride and drive at that mileage. Both will last a lot longer with proper maintenance.

Anecdotally, I've heard of more accords with super high mileage.. 300k+.

We had a 2009 Camry V6. I hated that car. Most expensive yet stripped out POS ever made. fricking paint was like and egg shell and chipped easily, headliner fell 4 years in, and then it had to have a $4,500 rebuild at 100k due to some cam defect Toyota knew about but did not recall. I had to threaten to sue dealer and Toyota to get it fixed under a lifetime warranty.

I'll never own another Toyota.

Did either one have noticeably less road noise?

Road noise is the only thing I hate about the Altimas I drive but I hear the Accords are even worse. Toyota are supposedly better but I never drove or ride in either.

My 07 Accord has 200k and shows no signs of stopping.

Answer: Accord
