She actually has the highest GPA in her class but thanks. She's doing the problem exactly as the examples are given. She can figure out the examples in textbook but not the worksheets the teacher gave.

If they aren't, they will be after she gets the dose wrong.

0.43 ml per hour at a concentration of 2 mcg/ml would be the equivalent of 0.86 mcg of epi per hour. The physician will not be happy if his order is 1 mcg/kg/min.

The OP specifically mentions your name needing assistance and you respond this way?

So patient needs 70 mcg per minute. So at a concentration of 2 mcg/mL they need 35 ml per minute. So that would be 2100 ml/hr
That's the answer she came out with. However the answer is .43 ml/hr

For real, what a bitch

Not with the information provided. Also, this patient is SOL.

2100ml/hr
1mcg/kg/min would be 70mcg/min and 4.2 grams per hour. pt fuuuuucked.
epi is dosed in mcg/min usually.

DAMN

The "answer" is wrong. No one infuses anything at a rate of 0.43 ml per hour. That's barely enough volume to even reach the lumen of the IV from the port it's plugged in.

she's kinda right though

Perhaps, but she could have used a little more tact IMO.

1 * 70 kg * 60 (min/ 1 hr) / 2 (mcg of epi in 1 ml D5W) = 4200/2 = 2100 ml/hr

It's like not knowing derivative of x^2 in MechE lol

She didn't ask for the op to mention her. She is right tho. Every time a medical thread is started she is seemingly paged. This place is not her job.
