Nah, it’s pretty spot on. Hence why you think it’s so slanted and probably call it mom support

Truth. I don't know why they don't base it off payroll taxes which every employer is supposed to pay. Those are done per pay period. Have the support be a percent not an amount and it could fluctuate with income. They do need to stop using gross because that doesn't factor real world expenses. Treat it like a tax and allow "standard deductions" and then base it on your gross adjusted income.
Excellent suggestion. In 2009, I was laid off and was without a job for 4 mos. The oil industry was shite and I had enough saved to just to get by with my bills. After 4 mos, I was told I had to pay back child support for the months I was out. Definitely should be some kind of percentage of your income.

Be serious about marriage and dating or face the wrath of the female centric divorce/child system.
That sums it up pretty nicely.

although there are trul(y) deadbeat dads, there's usually a lot more to the story
I’m sure that is true at times, the situations i’ve had first hand knowledge have simply been a case of a guy who didn’t want to give up his play money or who’s new girlfriend/wife was manipulating him like his ex did. I’ve never seen a case where a stand up guy didn’t pay his court ordered child support if he had the means at all.
I have seen cases where people on either side have manipulated the system to their advantage. I also saw a case where the woman ended up with less child support because she petitioned for more despite he ex making less money.

Women are independent and can make it without a man in their lives, just not without his paycheck in their bank account.

This guy freaking ran away to Canada in order to get away from his duty of raising his kids or at least paying child support. He is the definition of a deadbeat. Frick him.
At the same time, the child support system reslly does need to be fixed. Justice is being served jn this instance, but there are lots of men being bent over raw due to the system.

quote:Yes but if kids are involved, it doesn't work that way. Spousal support or alimony, definitely agree with you on them not getting that in your scenario.

what's pathetic is the family court system, many spousal/child support rulings are set up to where it's impossible for the dad to comply, and the financial stipulations are ruled based on the man's gross income, as if he has no taxes to pay, and no expenses of his own, definitely long overdue for reform
Agreed. Even moreso when she takes the dad back to court to try and change something. Now he has to pay additional costs for court and lawyer all while paying her still.
Women bitching about equality need to look into the real inequality in family court which is shifted highly to their favor.

This is simply not the case in Louisiana.

You’re high as a kite my friend.
I actually am the custodial parent for my kids but the lengths I had to go through to get that was insane. The court viewed her as the rightful parent and I had to prove why she shouldn’t be.
