Awful situation and shows why the system is stupid. Guy knocks up a bunch of women. Can’t pay his bill so he resorts to sell cocaine. Gets caught, thrown in jail. So instead of being a productive member of society, paying his fair share of tax, he’s in jail doing nothing. Now taxpayers got to pay for his prison life. And when he gets out, he’s probably have a hard time getting a job, not contributing society. Probably needs gov assistance or lands back in prison. It’s like a triple whammy.

Let this be a warning to the youngsters out there. Make sure you procreate with people from good families. I can’t imagine a scenario where my husband would abandon his kids, but if he did, I would go to his parents and say, “Look what your son is doing.” They would lean on him until he did the right thing. My parents would do the same to me if the situation were reversed.

She didn't "win it" fifty years after the divorce. She collected it fifty years after the divorce. The judgment for child support was entered years ago.

There was a guy here who had a Texas judgment for child support against him (he had two daughters). The girls were in their 20's, and he received a huge bill from Texas (well over $200k). He thought that when the girls hit 18 all his past unpaid child support would wash away ... did get a big surprise.

Truth. I don't know why they don't base it off payroll taxes which every employer is supposed to pay. Those are done per pay period. Have the support be a percent not an amount and it could fluctuate with income. They do need to stop using gross because that doesn't factor real world expenses. Treat it like a tax and allow "standard deductions" and then base it on your gross adjusted income.
