Someone’s taking the golden tablets literally again
There's nothing in the "golden tablets" that has anything to do with offending children...Brigham Young added the multiple wives agenda when he moved to utah...I don't know if he put an age limit it on it...probably not.

Has he made any comment on the matter?

Netflix has two wild, but very good documentaries about the fundamentalist Mormons, FLDS.
One in 2022 Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey about their prophet Warren Jeffs. Then this year had Trust Me: The False Prophet about one of the prophets after Jeffs who was also a predator. These people still had pictures of Warren Jeffs all in their house and worshipped him even though he's in jail as a sexual predator. The next guy up did the same thing.
I watched both of those.
Anyone who is Mormon, regardless of which flavor (there are several) is weird.
Other Christian sects are weird, too, but most not as weird as Mormons.
Except Pentecostal Holiness. They are pretty weird too. I know, because my wife's parents were both Pentecostal Holiness.

There is no final authority alive today. Jesus has not spoken on the matter. Mormons came along long after Jesus allegedly existed.

Having lived around Mormons for nearly 6 years now, I have to say that it is a really weird religion. They are also the cheapest, money hungry people I've seen. Their baptisms are strange. They have kids get baptized for people that have already died, not themselves. The special underwear. It's a lot.

Fire up the wood chipper. Set on low and put him in feet first.

Right. They are famous for their genealogy records.
Apparently, they posthumously baptize pretty much everyone who dies in the US into their religion.

Are Mormons considered Christian?

There are no rules. Anyone can call themselves "Christian".
There are about a half dozen things the New Testament says you must believe in order to be saved. That’s my standard for whether a church is truly Christian or not, regardless of my feelings of their other doctrine or politics. The LDS church requires all of them to be a member in good standing. Many of the same people telling me Mormons aren’t real Christians also tell me that Catholic and Eastern Orthodox members aren’t either becsuse both have some or all apocryphal books in their standard canon (1 and 2 Maccabees, Esdras, etc). And yet again these churches were serving Christ long before Martin Luther came along.
