The california wild fires were caused by the state and federal government's inability to properly manage public lands by doing controlled burns to remove organic fuel.

Poor kid...she/he doesn't stand a chance with parents that stupid. I am amazed at how people continue to do this shite every year...it's like they've never heard of wildfires nor paid attention to the drought warnings.

Someone mentioned managing risk. We own 80 acres of land in WI. My dad has had it in a managed forest program (about 30 acres is actually wooded) for decades. One day 2 years ago he came home to the warden and 2 feds waiting for him. There was an invasive threat to white ash trees. Apparently some desk jockey in Madison decided that our forest & the forest land of our neighbor were where the line would be made. They went through and cut every freaking white ash out of there. The only good thing was they paid for everything and we got the money for the wood. It really fricked with deer hunting though....we went nearly a year without seeing one on our trail cams. In a normal cycle they mark the trees but we have to pay for everything up until it leaves our land. In return we get a big tax break. I'm surprised that California has yet to figure out how to manage wooded areas properly. It's not like this is a new phenomenon in CA.
