I don’t get the hate on this board for these guys. Yeah there a few social media glory seekers but the majority do it because they just want to do something good.
I have seen many other organizations with the same types of people. Most just for helping others and some for social media glory.
What’s odd is that the same posters that attack the “Cajun navy” are the same ones that attack the the two social media idiots from Baton Rouge that no logical person even gives a shite about.

I bet that the people hating on these volunteers have never been in a position to have to make a call for help in a flood situation. The only people coming to Chalmette after Katrina to rescue people was those same volunteers who call themselves the Cajun Navy.

I live in area heavily affected by by Harvey.
I witnessed the good and bad of people on social media. The good outweighed the bad massively. Yes there were a few that wanted some attention for a little bit of “social media glory “ but the majority of social media posts were more about those that were affected.

After the water receded after Harvey, me and a few people i knew spent 2 weekends in Houston helping gut or clean houses, just help however we could overall. I’d say 99% of the people were there for the right reasons.
