FIFY

The left has realized with social media and a press that is only concerned with flash, you can get your way if you just attack the other side.

I find it humorous that the people that think every disagreement is "bullying" use actual bullying to press their agenda.

Another issue is that the default position for conservatives is arguably more moderate. As much as they may be disgusted by this, no conservative in modern times wants to mistreat/oppress gays or transsexuals as some kind of subhuman class. That kind of puts them at somewhat of an inherent disadvantage for ongoing debates that invoke something akin to moral relativism.

Every generation wants to think they have some kind of cause. For milennials and Generation Xers, and the boomers who are trying to be modern, they need to latch onto movements like this. Because many of our civil and human rights issues as a society have been largely resolved, there is somewhat of a void.

The problem is that they aren't always noble, worthy, or a positive for society; or they may be good but have a lot of negative repercussions (see feminist movment).

I'm doubtful this will happen because I'm pretty cynical about humanity, but I really hope society is rational enough to reject some of the larger, more negative aspects of this agenda.

Dudette getting a courage award when s-he gets coffee with a hoodie on and looking at shis sandals the whole time.

I'm sorry, some people get fricked up chromosomes. Sometimes these chromosomes make us want to do drugs, be perverts, think we're the opposite sex, make us want to kill cats, rape women, serial killer.... why label some as bad and some as great when its all about a fricked up chromosome.

I don't get these arguments...

don't people with mental illnesses win these awards all the time?

if someone with downs had won the award, would you mock it because someone with a mental illness won the award?

It's insulting to something so legitimate as down's syndrome to compare what Bruce is doing to it.

right

I didn't mean to compare the 2 on levels of mental illness

I just don't get the questions like "why are we propping up a mental illness?" when we do it all the time and it is almost universally celebrated
