It works really well for single folk, families not so much. If you need a SUV for your damn kids that isn't going to change within a years time. Imagine how pissed your wife would be if you swapped the Escalade for CTS V coupe, lol
What if you could add a second vehicle for $500?
Cadillac may be on to something.

Someone at Cadillac hasn't thought this through. Every crack dealer with a fake license will hop on this like white on rice. After about three multi-million $ injury lawsuits this will be gone faster than it came in.

Can't you do the same thing at Enterprise for cheaper?
$50 x365 = $18,250. $250 cheaper for a Caddy.

Honestly, I don't think it's too bad of a deal. No worrying about insurance, maintenance, tires, repairs, etc. New car delivered to you whenever you want. Escalade for family trips, CTS-V for a weekend away with the wife. I can dig it.

No doubt, that's why I mentioned a family plan or buyer loyalty. There are a bunch of possibilities.

This may not be a bad deal in Louisiana with our shite insurance rates.
Also factor in auto maintenance as well

So 50 bucks a day? I'm guessing the minimum Is a month. Sounds like financial suicide.

ETA: if insurance is included you think they'll just cover anybody who walks in the door?

Interesting concept. Too expensive though.
Agreed

I could see it taking off if it was $500/month.
not happening

People that can throw $1500/month towards a vehicle aren't going to give a shite about swapping out Cadillacs.
agree 100%
also, how many Cadillac models are desirable enough and worth throwing this kind of coin towards.... a pimped out escalade and a CTS-V is all i can think of. Even an ATS-V would be bad value for $1500/mo

Ugh. FOR THE LAST TIME. This is the introductory price in NEW YORK. I wouldn't expect Cadillac to offer the service in Louisiana or Texas for $1,500. It may be around $1,000. That beats the hell out of depreciation and other factors. They are testing in New York and will roll out to other states throughout the year.

This deal is too good to be true if you're a high end pick up service, which are all over Dallas. Unlimited miles and insurance included? Much better than a Town Car and much more appealing to upscale clientele or businesses.

I doubt that they come off of that $1500 price tag. It's a very fair price no matter where you live ..

There's no way the price drops that dramatically. Cars aren't real estate, there might be slight variations between markets, but no way NY pricing is 50% higher than more rural areas.
Any regional variance in pricing will more likely be due to cost of insurance.

Cadillac is making some great cars these days, but the people who use this service are going to be opting for the $90,000 CT6, $100,000 Escalade ESV Platinum, or the $75,000 CTS-V.
There will be almost nobody opting for the crossovers or the compact ATS. It would be foolish to do so with nicer, bigger cars available. I'm sure they are aware of that.
I can see higher end livery services using this as well...but I do not see how they can maintain a level or inventory outside major metros with at least a half dozen big dealerships around.
If it works, said dealers would also make money cleaning maintaining the cars, and Cadillac gets to sell them as a used vehicle in a year after making money on the front end.

If they do end up doing Chevy and it's available in Texas for a grand a month I'm in for a few months a year even without the vette included. Spring and fall road trip in a camaro convertible, maybe a summer time family road trip in LTZ Suburban or Tahoe out of state. Unlimited mileage and paid vehicle insurance are very attractive at that price point, didn't read it but would the service be available to you outside of your home market ie replacing the need to rent a car when you fly into to somewhere, that be the cats arse to have as well.

Same here. It's too good to pass up.

For that price they should pay for the gas too
Posted on 1/7/17 at 10:08 am to GeauxxxTigers23
You're delusional. The price includes insurance, maintenance, detailing, and delivery.
Posted on 1/7/17 at 10:10 am to knight_ryder
Interesting idea but It would prob only work in high density areas like NewYork or Los Angeles. Would never fly here. Plus I despise shitty GM products...

No theyre not....very overhyped vehicles. Plus their resale is horrific. If you really want one, wait a couple years & you can get a Caddy cheap.
