Except it turns out his father was still alive. So now they owe him $900k .
He went to the police station in Fontana, CA to report his father missing. Police interrogated him for 17 hours until he began hallucinating. Here are some of the highlights:
They told him they had his father's body in the morgue
They told him they found his dog walking around in his father's blood.
They brought in the dog and told him he needed to say goodbye, because they were taking her to be euthanized.
They made him walk around a vacant lot in the middle of the night to point out where he buried the body.
Eventually the man confessed to the murder and said he had stabbed his father after an argument. The cops left the room and the man then tried to commit suicide.
Lager, his father turned up safe after going to visit relatives. The police kept the son in detention and didn't inform him that his father was actually safe.
City of Fontana settled the lawsuit for $900k. Cops will not be charged with a crime.

Well it happened 6 years ago and they just settled the lawsuit. So it wasn't that quick.

And then took the dog to animal control and the only way they were able to locate it was because it had a chip in it. So the legitimately almost had his dog killed.

Back the blue until it happens to you. So many simps on here who virtue signal and praise law enforcement. Support the good ones and call out the bad ones.

If this is all true, zero chance I would have settled for <$1mm
It would have been many many millions. This is outrageous if a true story.

When people tell you it's not the rank and file just the ones in charge, they are full of shite.

I think this guy had mental issues and they withheld his medicine from him too.
shite like this always makes me wonder if I would break or how long it would take. These guys do this for a living and say they pulled me in and really put the screws to me how long before I gave them a false confession?

Hook someone's balls up to a battery and with the right voltage he'll confess to the Kennedy assassination.
Basically all of those "enhanced interrogation techniques" are a waste of time. The information yielded is almost always garbage

Just remember four words: "I want a lawyer."
Then, stop talking.

What bullshite! Do you need a lawyer with you every time you have to deal with the cops?

1933-1945 edition.
So not the ‘33-‘45 version of Germans.

I got dismissed from a jury pool last week after telling the ADA I hold cops testimony no higher than the average population.
