This is in California, surprisingly. There’s some red blooded baws over that way.

Is it a little strange to do that during breakfast? Sure.
Dangerous? Get the frick out.

Standing to sing the national anthem in the middle of breakfast is weird.
It's only weird to you because you're not used to being around people who have a genuine love for this country and the freedom it provides.
People largely have an misconception about what love of country really is. It's been cultivated in them for decades that nationalism and pride of your country is something to be ashamed of or at least something that's not to be displayed in public. so when you see it you think, man that weird.
It's not, if your over 40 and didn't grow up in an inner-city.

But will you keep pledging your allegiance to a government that you don’t support?
I’m too lazy to drop an image of Biden, Harris, and Pelosi together, but you get what I’m saying.
Edit: well, I guess there isn’t a line about the government itself. My bad.

I couldn't tell what is happening in that picture and thought she was referring to a bear trap falling off the wall and clamping on someone's head or something.
That is what I thought to!

The Pledge of Allegiance is a weird tradition
Posted on 5/1/23 at 12:14 pm to Smeg
We should make every elected official pledge allegiance to us every day. Thats how it was supposed to work.
Also, the real danger in that picture is probably the undiagnosed diabetes.

You think that's weird? In Texas, school kids pledge to the TEXAS flag as well: Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible
My kids school added the extra flair of all extending their hands toward the flag sort of hitler-esque, albeit palms turned up. Freaked out the first time I saw it. Not a native Texan, and nobody give a rats arse about honoring the Missouri flag.

We’ve said the pledge of allegiance since I attended school and throughout my teaching career. We’re not in a communist country…yet.

Once you remove the economic ideals of the Soviet v US during the cold war you had some outright strange indoctrination methods that both used.
For the Soviets the shite was all for Mother Russia, equality, and whatever they taught. The US still has a lot of thier indoctrination sticking around because we won the cold war. It does seem that is slowly dying, for better or worse depending on your views.

I grew up in small town Ohio and we did pledge of allegiance at every school/town function. Hand over heart, take your hat off.
It’s all about respect to our nation and those who fought for the dang flag. Nothing wrong with that.

I usually assume people who post this are single or gay.
What does your "wife" look like?

That trap is just a decoration, it’s probably not set, and in an area where bears routinely climb…
