I don’t care what people do to get away from this mess, and the virtue signals from these pampered pus-sacks who write for these rags aren’t going to convince anyone to the contrary.
It’s like these people don’t live in reality.
They don't. Liberals never do.

Leftists are constantly nagging people not to "shame" others (fatties, trannies, dirty third worlders, etc) but are ALWAYS "shaming" those who are successful, white, Christian, etc. As expected, here they are "shaming" "wealth".

I was on a townhall phone call with my Congressman last night. Even though PA requires people from NYC to self quarantine for two weeks, it isn't happening. The people in the north of my county (further from Philly, farmland, "country" homes) were on the call complaining of New Yorkers coming to their vacation homes for the weekend, stocking up on supplies, and going back to city. Obviously not self quarantining, and wiping out items at local stores in the process.
I'm not hating on these people for having second homes (or third, or fourth). But it is irresponsible to go back and forth from a hotspot and mingle within the local population.
For what it is worth, Congressman Fitzpatrick told them to report such activity, and gave a phone number to do so.

The jealousy and anger of young gig journalists is a major contributor to the dumbing down of America.

That’s what’s so different about THIS COUNTRY and Russia? THIS COUNTRY and Italy? THIS COUNTRY and Saudi Arabia? Please tell me in what country this does not apply. Also, what epoch?

Neo Puritanism. Turn neighbor on neighbor.

If you’re rich, you don’t have to pay income taxes
Well, that's certainly not how it works.
It is an exaggeration, but there is a lot of truth to it. Populist politics demands that we pretend to soak the rich, and if you look at actual tax revenues, the rich are bearing most of the burden. But social security is a 15% payroll regressive tax that changes the picture dramatically.
There are so many loopholes in the tax code that the rich are always reducing their tax liability below what our tax code lists as the percentages of their liability. This serves a good purpose, because without loopholes we would be taking about half the income of rich people, which would be punitive and cause capital flight and economic depression.
The owners of my company pay the AMT which is about 29% for federal taxes. That’s a lot, but it’s not the advertised 37%. With state taxes, that works out to 43%.

quote:Hasn't there been charts and graphs recently that show it's poor people who are moving around more than rich people? Pretty sure I've seen that, and people are complaining about the wealth gap and systemic racism, etc.
The virus travels via people, and the people who travel the most, both domestically and internationally, are rich people.
So if rich people move around, they're infecting others.
But if rich people shelter in place LIKE THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO DO, they're bad for doing that as well.
Alrighty then...

think the main point is who gives a shite? We know wealthy people travel more. Before any sort of national emergency was declared were they supposed to stop traveling?
Well yeah.
The REAL point is that rich people do too much because they have too much and this is just another point to add in the socialist bucket.
