I don’t think it ever actually made it to the Smithsonian.

Ole buzz must be hurting for money. Sad to see from a national treshure! Maybe he can talk to elon about shooting him back into outside space for a few bucks!

Maybe he wants to control what happens to them and not have them scavenged by distant relatives and hangers on when he dies.

The watches I buy at Wal-Mart have been closer to the moon than Ole Buzz.

frick Buzz Aldrin. Started criticizing Elon’s Space Program for not being international enough and some other woke BS.

Who’s space program is better than anyone else’s including other countries? SpaceX.

I am more interested in mythical Norse “sunstones,” recently confirmed true, than any other ancient technology, like the wrist watch.

I told this story before, but this was told directly to me, during dinner among six people, by the astronaut Walt Cunningham, who was the lunar module pilot on Apollo 7, which was the first manned Apollo space flight after the Apollo 1 disaster.

He purchased a duplicate Omega Speedmaster and when he turned in the watch to NASA, it was the one that didn't go to space. It took more than a decade and a young archivist who noted the serial number was not matching up to what it should have been. He was contacted by NASA and told to return the one that had gone to space or else deal with the consequences. Grudgingly, he returned the priceless watch and now it's somewhere buried deep in the bowels of NASA down in Houston.

No SpaceX astronaut has ever left LEO. Explain how it's better? I see the promise, but how did you get there already?
