Looking to buy one. What are the good ones? What are the brands to avoid. Thanks.

Just bought that Fisher & Paykel 36” built in and it is as quiet a fridge as I’ve ever had. Building/Install was rough but great clean lines once installed. Way less expensive than other built ins in its class.

If you have Monopoly money, nothing better than sub zero, followed by Thermador.

If you poor Whirlpool Gold is great. If you want to look rich and have the space that Frigidaire side by side with trim kit looks awesome for around 4K

I’m a guy. I just wants something that keeps stuff cold and don’t break down in two years. I figured avoid GE.

I bought a Kenmore Elite french door model approx 28 cu.ft. about a year and a half ago. It did have one small issue that was taken care of under warranty, but that was due to the freezer door track bending because someone didn't put something in there correctly and jammed it shut.

Now that I have a toddler, I kind of regret having a freezer that she can easily open, so we may change it out in the not too distant future

I'm not sure how long they are supposed to last but I have a Kenmore and it's already had to be repaired and it's less than 5 years old. I bought it from Sears so I blame myself.

Bought a Kenmore Elite side by side that was priced at 2500.00 Stayed on the floor for over a year and they dropped the price to 1500. Bought it. Worked for 4 1/2 years and died. I mean deader than a door nail. Avoid.

We recently upgraded our Whirpool (or maybe it was GE?) range (oven/stove combo) to Kitchenaid. The rangetop is stainless, because that was the only option, but our double wall ovens are Kitchen Aid Black Stainless. Looks really good. We'll basically be forced to get a Kitchen Aid fridge in a year or two in order to match their specific black stainless color.

If you're looking for a stainless, get the kind that doesn't show fingerprints. It's almost impossible to keep fingerprints and streaks off the conventional stainless. Theyre a little more expensive, but I'd happily pay the extra to not have to deal with the hassle.

Just bought a GE. Spent a lot of time researching. Basically, GE, Kenmore, Frigidaire, Maytag, etc. are all pretty good brands. AS far as initial quality goes, they all rank fairly evenly. If you look at service charges and stuff in the years following, it quickly becomes evident that you want to avoid Samsung and LG. Parts are very difficult and expensive to get.

We've had the same KitchenAid for 16 years and it keeps cooling. Just go see your good buddy Con down at Cowboy M's and he'll hook you up.
