Does anyone have a new-ish refrigerator that has real thermostats that will keep temperatures to / near a specific temperature rather that "cold, colder, coldest?

Do not get a Samsung (freezer on the bottom and side by side on top with ice maker). The ice maker is crap. If you are even remotely interested google it, there are tons of videos on how terrible it is. Once a month I have to thaw out the ice maker using a hair dryer because it is a terrible design.
DO NOT get a SAMSUNG!
DO NOT get a SAMSUNG!

My Kenmore Elite does that. Haven't verified it with an actual thermometer, but I can set the temp for each compartment to a specific degree.

We bought a GE back in August and have been very pleased with it so far.

I’ve had a Samsung for over a year. It has a pull out drawer freezer that I love. Never a problem and very easy to change out the water filter.

They also had good initial ratings.

My Samsung side by side has been fine. Ice dispenser sometimes freezes up, but emptying it out and thawing out the frozen parts fixes it for a good while. Not that hard.

Now that I have a toddler, I kind of regret having a freezer that she can easily open, so we may change it out in the not too distant future
Just scream at her until she cries, she won't mess with it again. You just have to let her know you're serious.

You shouldn't have to do that. Fridges are too damned expensive to have to go through that trouble periodically.
You also basically said the exact same thing as the person you responded to.

Mine was a cheaper model. And honestly it's a once every 3-4 months thing. And we use it alot.

Avoid Samsung
Why?
Because replacement parts are expensive and difficult to find.

Just went through this right after Christmas.
We had an Electrolux Icon 42". It was a very expensive piece of shite. Looked at fixing it but it was going to cost over $3000. I would avoid that brand at all costs.
Looked really hard at LG and Samsung and almost bought one of those. Got to talking to the salesman at Lowe's and when I pressed him, he said he would suggest I really do my homework before buying either of those.
Went to Home Depot and pressed the guy and got basically the same answer.
Ended up buying a GE profile. In two months we have been very please with it.

Is this sarcasm? I hope it is. You are NOT suppose to have to do this in 2018!!! Sure, give me a fridge that I have to thaw out once a moth, no big deal. WTF?
