I’ve never cared about jewelry. My husband quotes Ron White when those commercials come on: “Diamonds-that’ll shut her up”.

Buying jewelry is old school. Married 38 year and yes, I bought the wife a lot of nice jewelry over the years. Most were custom made. She doesn't wear it most of the time, which I understand. She has also gave a bunch to our daughter which is fine by me.
Looking back, would I buy jewelry again for her? Why yes as long as it is custom made. Yes, one does pay a lot more, but it is always a one of a kind piece and I know the value will not drop. Investment, not really for us, but maybe 100 years or so from now a great granddaughter or someone in my family will have a nice piece passed down.

Mrs. 19 and I were having a laugh at one of the Jared commercials...I made the remark that the woman in the ad looked so touched at getting that ugly-assed jewelry that she might even let him PIIHB.
