Pay up for good lawn equipment and maintain it. Mower, edger, blower, etc. Lawn care can be fun unless your equipment fails.

Somebody that makes that comment tells me they like hype over substance. Someone that knows guitars would've asked what year the Guild is.
Taylor is hype but Martin isn't? Alright cork sniffer.

My $200 Swiss computer backpack I got in 2005. Its been hauled with me on every trip flying/driving all over the world when I frequently traveled and its held up well.

Lucchese Boots and Birkenstock Sandals. Both can be resoled/repaired for very reasonable prices. I sent a pair of dry rotted, rusted Birks off and they replaced the sole, repaired the cork and replaced the rusted buckles. The only thing they didn’t replace is the leather. Total cost was under $100

Now I am at the cross roads of spending several hundred on a new deck, spindles, and blades. Had I just bought a good one, I wouldn’t have that issue.
...you think the commercial units don't fail? ...I can't find a gif laughing hard enough.
Buy one with a heavy deck. Blades every 150 hours. Bearings every 300 hours if you go japanese or US. Belts every 150.
The commecial mower I have has identical time, the bearings ARE greasable... But seem to last the same amount of time.
