Butchering animals

I would like to preface this with the acknowledgment that while terminal to the animal, it has helped my progeny to survive and become educated at an early age of anatomy and physiology.
Field dressing a deer. My son and my friend cut a doe down. Our kids watched. I pointed out the internal organs and explained how each organ worked. Heart, lungs, intestine, liver...they saw this.
They both work in the medical field. An aside, they are not social workers with a debt problem.
I helped my grandfather butcher pigs. It was survival in an Appalachian area.

Both of our kids LOVED cleaning fish and dressing birds. They were absolutely fascinated by it. If anything our daughter was more into it than our son. Kids are curious about everything.

Butcher Holler perchance?
Do you have the traveling butcher in your area?
(now they come in a dually / gooseneck type setup and can do it all on site. We were farmers but raised livestock on the side for personal consumption. Used to raise at least a cow or two a year for personal use.

Don't feel bad.
Vegans kill animals to protect and harvest crops, and the animals are just disposed.
