I use my company issued credit card.
Only thing I turn in is Uber/Lyft rides because the app was accidentally charging my business CC over my personal CC on regular drunken nights at home. I racked up $160 in rides at home over the course of like 2-3 months before I realized

You get the points for personal use?

No, I get the points from that card. I don't have any personal expenses on the corporate card
Eta: I think I misunderstood your question. Yes, I keep the points accrued on the corporate card for personal use. I think it may cost like $50 a year to "buy" the points from the firm but I accrue way more than 5000 points a year and it's just an automatic deduction election

I’m not going to use my company CC on a soda and chips while at the airport

This is a real problem for me too.
I wish it would default back to your top choice instead of staying on the last one you used. Maybe it does and I just haven't looked hard enough.

Not what I meant
I mean you get to use your points from your corporate card for personal use?

EVERYTHING...except cigarettes and alcohol when traveling for work...

We have a pretty straightforward travel policy and we use concur. If I use my company card, it goes on my expense report.
If I buy things on my personal card, it is for personal reasons, and I will not turn it in. Occasionally I will have to use my personal card, and I turn in the receipt just as I would my corporate card.
Our policy tells what we can and cannot expense, and if it is something out of the norm (maybe a laptop charger, or something) I will email my boss/finance and get written approval.

Well kudos
I definitely didn't get to use points when I had my corporate card

On a business trip why even bring your personal card???... the trip itself implies everything you buy while on it is a business expense...

I worked with a guy who put a speeding ticket on his expense account. He was going 45 in a 25 zone. I warned him not to do it, but he did it anyway. He said that he wouldn't have gotten the ticket if he wasn't travelling for work. I told him he wouldn't have gotten the ticket if he didn't have such a lead foot. He expensed it.
It was a small company, maybe 20 employees. Not only did he not get paid, but he damn near got fired.

some scams that were utilized
using ones personal car at corporate milage and turning in a high priced airline quote
using ones personal bonus points credit card instead of corporate supplied credit card. rebates did not flow to company
using an indirect travel routing to build airline miles
combining business travel with vacation travel
paying for work associate meals
expensing a winter coat because lack of climate awareness

My car got towed in Houston while I was in meeting earlier this year.
Would you expense that?

I get reimbursed $4 per mile.

If I am travelling for work they should cover every expense I incur.

Here is my advice to you (if you are interested):
Read your companies T&E policy...READ IT TO THE T and know it.
there is most likely a cutoff of what you need a receipt for...my old company was 20.00 and over needed a receipt, 19.99 and under no receipt.
It will also layout (officially or unofficially) the expected reasonable costs of each meal, something like:
12.00 breakfast
18.00 lunch
25-30.00 dinner
Submit BS expenses for every meal of every day you travel, breakfast lunch and dinner under 20.00; if you have a legit dinner over 20.00, try and only do it once or twice per trip.
Thats 50.00 per day that you dont need to account for cash in your pocket.
Have expense reimbursement direct deposited into a savings account, draw out like 120.00 for the trip and dont exceed. Use out of pocket cash if you do, you'll spend less if so.
This method always kept my expense reports clean, and I usually would clear 125 or so each trip. Then with me traveling 40 weeks a year, I could take the wife and kids on vacation once a year, or multiple weekend getaways with just us.
Disclaimer:
1) this wont work if mandatory company credit is required
2) pay for large dinners on your rewards miles credit card if possible then pay yourself out of account and also benefit from miles.
3) yes technically stealing...grow up, and remember that when your in a shite hole like Bay City TX hating your chosen profession, the thought that they are going to pay for your vacation will get you through the trip.
4) if your a big OT baller and have the 250 with large truck nuts, this doesnt apply to you, spend it and live large and wave to me from the scarab at crab island.
